That didn't take long.

The dollar hit a 12-year low against the yen this evening--1 US Yenny to the Japanese Yen. Better stock up on the good Sake before the price goes up....ditto for anything from the EU, Switzerland, UK and Canada.

The dollar may be the new currency du' jour for the carry trade.

I am absolutely appalled at how unconcerned Mr Bernanke is with the dollar slide.
Just recently the $ was worth 1.2 Yuro and property in Aus was worth half the price to me.
sheesh..I wont be traveling for a while..and to think I was going to invest heavily into currency OEFs in 2003 or purchase a home in Australia.
Didn't do either.:bang:

...a yenny for your thoughts on how low the $ will fall?

Ridonkulous - I remember when we just pretended the prices in Euros were US dollar prices - because it was less in dollars than Euros so we wouldn't spend too much!

And a British pound was $1.50!

That was within the last 10 years!

I've got a fabulous memory for anything impractical! I'll screw up my own phone number or zip code, but will never forget that polar bears are all left handed.

and gold broke $1000 per ounce, and gas is near $3.40 a gallon for regular. Printing money obviously isn't helping, unless you are printing it in your home.

What if the dollar is doing what he wants it to do? What if he wants to collapse the dollar? If he was doing it on purpose, would it make sense on why he is not concerned?

I heard that gold will be going to $1200-$1400 dollars by the end of the summer. I know for those people who bought gold last year all are smiling Joe.;-)

Less than that -- it was in our favor 5-6 years ago. I loved the Euro then. Now I hate it becaues I still think in terms of dollars -- and I end up spending way too much money!!
