Sowal trick, turn down the dirt road just west of the old wheelhouse. Follow to the end and turn left (not much of a choice). This will take you either to 395 or you can then cross and sneak thru the back of Seaside.

The above scheme works in the opposite direction as well. ;-)

Yes, it's Auburn's Spring Break. The "yee-haaws" will soon be shouted out from the oversized, jacked-up $70,000 custom pickup trucks.

HOP. Sorry about your delay. Glad you weren't trying to get to the hospital or pick up a sick child at school. We do have a problem in an emergency. With a fire or bad wreck for instance in the "right" place we could be trapped. Guess we better plan ahead for the Sandor move to Alys Beach. The backroad is okay, just don't want to overload their dirt road. Other paved possibilities should at least be discussed.

My 2 Borders don't know who needs herding the most, the Auburn students in their SUV's, or the 4 year olds with the training heels??;-)

oh, I know! Hop - I drove thru seagrove about 3 times today and everytime the traffic was at a stand still. it is equally shocking every year when you see the crowds in the grocery, on the roads, in Seaside strolling around in teeny suits in the cold, and on the beaches (Sunday was packed at the beach). The shelves at publix are getting bare. Some are completely empty. amazing.

I had to go to three grocery stores to find corned beef today. All three were basically full of frat boys loading carts full of beer and moms pushing two carts. The beer section at Watercolor Publix looked like it had been looted.

On the plus side, I did get carded buying Guiness.

It's even scarier when four-lane roads are involved.

Sunday afternoon, 3:00 p.m., Emerald Coast Parkway at Danny Wuerffel Way. We were westbound, but in the innermost left turn lane to double back to Best Buy / Michael's. There is also a vehicle next to us; not a problem. Light turns green, we and the car next to us start to turn, when out of what is supposed to be the actual westbound lane comes a SUV deciding to make a U-turn, across our path  , and totally in violation of every right-of-way protocol known to man. I am glad Fuzz was driving, as my peripheral vision might not have caught him in time. I am REALLY glad that Squirt wasn't playing driver-in-training.

Where is a cop when you need one?

This is a cakewalk......just wait till they start jetting 10,000 Europeans a day into the new airport and the Germans in rental cars drive 30A at autobahn speeds

.....but Europeans are notoriously stingy when it comes to tipping--that's if they tip at all. They're used to having their waitstaffs paid "living wages" so they just round up the tip to the nearest Euro if they're felling overly generous (maybe).
