Okay, I'm down in Naples now with my parents so I showed this to my mother and it took her about five minutes to laugh. She's more religious than I am.

My childhood minister always said that the people who came at Easter were just picking up the umbrellas they forgot at Christmas. :floor:

Wrong you are, darling. It falls on the same date every 11 years. It was on April 11, 1971; April 11, 1982; April 11, 1993; April 11, 2004, and will fall again on my 44th birthday, April 11, 2015. The Easter Bunny brought me, not the stork...

I think she was refferring to March 23rd.

In a more interesting fact Easter will not ever fall on March 23rd 2008, after this year, again!

You're right! (Sorry, Mango!) I just thought that all Easter dates were on the 11-year plan, but I just looked it up...

...and just realized that I ran out of Easter birthdays on #33! :( At least I was always born on Easter...

A friend of mine will have an Easter birthday in 2010, though...

(OOOH! Wait a minute! My 95th, 106th, and 117th birthdays will be on Easter again! Egg hunt at my rest home!)

Edited

Mango was correct, about March 23.

The time of Easter is based on the cycles of the moon, the equinox, and seasons and things in nature.

In simple (?) terms Easter occurs on the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox (the first day of spring).

In 2008 the vernal equinox will be on Thursday, March 20. The first full moon after that will be Friday, March 21. Thus, Easter will be on Sunday, March 23.

The earliest Easter can be is March 22 as it was last in 1818 and will be next in 2285.

The latest Easter can be is April 25 as it was last in 1943 and will be next in 2038.

I was born in 1971, if that helps you out, Mr. Math!

I didn't find that out until about 10 years ago. It's an impressive thing to spout off at parties. (If you're a geek, like me...)
