Strangest day ever

I have to admit I had one of the strangest things happen to me today and I've decided to share. Because I write for a local paper I can't comment on a lot of threads, especially in the political lounge because thats my beat. I have to keep my opinions to myself on local races and I work very hard to be an unbiased writer and give everyone a fair shake.

Today, I received my first "Deep Throat" phone call ever. The caller was nice, well spoken and even with a concealed voice they sounded to be in their 20's. They mentioned this board as well.:shock:

They shared with me a conspiracy theory directly opposite of the one that gets posted a lot in the political thread.:blink: I did not ask to meet them as we have no parking garages nearby and I am a strict student of W&B.

I appreciate the nice things the caller had to say about my work and the paper I work for (they said they believed I am unbiased and that is why they called me) and I invited them to call me back at anytime.

I must admit I am still a little dazed from it. Who'd a thunk it. DFS is the epicenter of the conspiracy theorist union:idontno: I promised I'd put the questions to the candidates as I interview them as I had already planned on letting them all go on the record about these rumors, but still, it was a little surreal.

It doesn't confer any disrespect to the caller but since we're in the South I decided it fit:D

I also want everyone to understand if this had been a regular source that was willing to go on record I would have never posted a single word about it.

I've just never received an anonymous concealed call like that and want to vent to my friends that it felt a little strange but I would always be welcoming to another conversation:blush:

Thanks guys for letting me vent yesterday. I'm feeling like reality has settled back in and it's business as usual.

Thanks to everyone for the support and nice messages. It's wasn't really scary, not at all, just a little different and just one part of this new career I'm still getting acclimated to doing:cool: I think it's all these theories getting throw around that freaks me out a little more than anything. But you know what they say, where there is smoke you usually find fire.

I guess you could say it comes with the job title of reporter. I do appreciate the caller, just never had one like that before:biggrin:

I guess this makes you "official." I was going to say "seasoned," but worried how that would work with "Deep Fried." Gotta go, I just made myself hungry. :D

Never thought of it that way. No, I'm referring to the condos over in "old" Seacrest near Emerald Waters. It's Gulf Front with an underground water..er parking garage. :biggrin:
