I haven't heard from her and gttbm is sooo sick that I doubt she can even answer the phone! I will try and call her later. This is the day of Molly's surgery and I am trying not to have a breakdown. My house is so quiet and I hate it!

Yes, that and remember I told you she had an overbite? Well, the vet is going to pull a baby tooth and try to work on one of the lower canines. I just called and made an appt. with a DOG DENTIST! She might require more surgery and I just hate this! She was so cute and happy waiting at the vet this morning and now I think she will never forgive me! I am a walking pity party right now! HELP ME!

It is sad, but they really do forget so quickly. I remember when we took Rudy in a few years ago to be neutered. When we brought him home, he was pretty drugged and loopy, but happy! He was in the family room with us, quietly sitting for the longest time. Then we noticed he was just sitting facing the blank wall! I don't think he realized he was even home! Sorta cute but sorta sad too! Then, he was perfect the next day.

You can always gaze at my beautiful new avitar to help take your mind off Molly!

Dogs are wonderful -------- they forgive so easily. Besides, spaying is a good thing. I don't know about doggy overbites --- does it affect how she eats? Maybe would cause problems for her later if not corrected?

Molly will still be totally in love with you when you pick her up today! And I'm sure she will have quite the pampered pooch recovery at Miss Kitty's canine hospital and spa!

He is Damian Kulash from the group "OK Go". I have a HUGE crush on him, even tho I'm old enough to be his mother probably. He is just so beautiful, imo. (Nobody knows me here!!)

Thanks for the good thoughts. I called about 30 minutes ago because I am paralyzed and need to know she is out of surgery. She WASN'T and even though they say things are just fine, I am losing it! I really need to get to the store, but must wait for the word! Hold on little Molly...Mommy is coming for you! (well, not until 6ish)

So sorry. Our standard poodle had a bite problem - one of her lower puppy canine teeth dug into the roof of her mouth so she couldn't chew her dry food. We almost decided on surgery to remove the baby tooth, but then the vet recommended waiting until the permanent tooth grew in. The tooth started out pointing inward, but a month later it straightened itself out. So no dog orthodontist needed!

But she is recovering from being spayed and having a stomach tack. Standard poodles (as well as some other breeds) are prone to getting bloat which is a life-threatening condition. So the breeders recommend a stomach tack at the time of spaying as long as you wait until the dog has achieved essentially its full growth. Our baby is 9 months old, so she'll get a little bigger, but not enough to pop the tack. The breeder said we could wait until 1 year, but we didn't want to risk her going into heat and greatly increasing her chance of mammary tumors.

Don't worry- they probably got a late start due to an earlier surgery taking longer than expected (ha ha -just like people surgeries!).

I'm sure Molly will be fine SS. Keep us posted! On my way out to Target too! Tell GTTBM I hope she feels better soon!

Oh, SS, i so know what you're feeling. The worst part is not being able to EXPLAIN to the little animal that they will be home soon. (well, I do it anyway on the chance that maybe they're more telepathic than we give credit for, but I'm crunchy like dat.) Hang tight, you'll both be fine and done with it all tomorrow...

I just got off the phone with a friend who was trying to get me to relax and I told her I was still paralyzed and she wouldn't stop laughing at me and I told her .//......I just got the call! She is out and awake and fine!!!! Her teeth are more of a problem than he had initially thought and he is sending x-ray films over to the dog dentist today and I have to go call and see if I can get her in on Friday for a consult, because she will need another surgery pronto on her canines. OMG I am so happy! I can go get her at 5:30!!!!! Thanks for holding my hand!!!!!!!!

See!!! I'm glad she is ok! Now you can relax.... until that next surgery We'll be here for you on that one too!!!
