Get a jump on the sales on Friday. This is for you guys...I am not getting lured out again. I am not going shopping on Friday. I will not get up at 5am and go stand in line for a silly bargain. I repeat...I am not going shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

I just realized that this is online too...that is awesome. Now I won't even be tempted to go out. :) Gotta love free shipping...I don't buy unless I get a great deal on shipping. I think that's why I love Overstock.com.
I do some shopping online but haven't yet. My 11 year old daughter wants an Ipod so badly. I bought an MP3 player for her a while back and I really don't see the point. They don't even play the radio. She really doesn't want the Nano and the others are $299. She wanted a pink mini and they don't make those anymore. UGH. I want to go back to buying barbies!!!!

OL- Don't tell your daughter I have a pink mini. Just tell her mine already needs a new battery and it's not even a year old. Mine is so scratched from dropping it and the top pops out and won't go back in. My mom is getting one of those XM Radio things where you can put it in the car or carry it around. But, there's nothing like an Ipod. BTW, I still see minis at Target and Best Buy...

OL the Apple Store at Lenox Square here in Atlanta still has some too, so the nearby store in OH may just as well have some, even though it is not available online.

Try finding an X-Box 360 like my son wants. On the local news tonight, people had stood in line for 14 HOURS at Wmart to buy one. Then in 3 cases, someone had followed them home and robbed them of it at gunpoint!!
There's nothing I want that badly!

You guys are great...thanks,we have an apple store at our Easton Mall. It does make me wonder why they stopped making them though. I wanted her to get the Nano but for some reason she doesn't want it. ??? Maybe because it's not pink. I'm sure I could buy a pink skin for it. I don't know what we'll end up with.

I thought that there would be a shortage with the Nintendo DS last year but they ended up having bunches of them. I pre-ordered it and then I didn't have to wait in any lines. We're a Playstation family so we'll be holding out for the PS3 next year. Good luck on finding one, I bet there will be plenty after this weekend.

Otters HATE shopping. My mom gets up at 4 AM.....she loves the thrill of shopping with millions of other sick, cranky people. She tried to talk me into it.....I told her I would rather have a root canal.....no seriously, I would !!

Oh yeah....and if you are up, you sometimes check to see if Miss Kitty was up before the roosters!!!

As most of you know, I tend to be up way too early sometimes....but believe me when I say....you will NOT catch me out in a line or driving to a mall at that hour!!!!

Suncat, I picked up my son today from college and he told me he wants one of those things too (really, I thought at 18 1/2 he'd have outgrown that stuff but apparently not!). He said the price will drop a lot after Christmas. What are they? $400? $300? In any event, a ridiculous amount of $$. My son very "graciously" offered to accept one for his late February birthday, "...so you can get it cheaper." HA!

I love shopping online at Overstocks.com! I bought a lot of stuff for the condo from there, even the iron bed. It came in a big box and took a while to assemble, but it looks beautiful and it's sturdy as anything. I've been pretty impressed with what I've ordered from them and their shipping is negligible.

Overstock.com might be the way to go for the Xbox360.
My 16 year old son (BTW, my 22 year looks down on this stuff, but whenever he's home, he sure likes to play!) wants one too, but no way am I giving into Bill Gates' hype.
Mostly just the bundled 360s were sold yesterday--close to $700. Forget it!
Come February, the market will be flooded with those Xboxes.

Online shopping really is the way to go.
Some sanctimonious types like to declare Black Friday as the day that we should stay home rather join the mad consumption of holiday shopping. I detest that "should" stuff. I am neither a ravenous spender nor an ascetist; I love the holidays, am a conservative gift-giver, and consider myself a savvy consumer. And if I do the online thing, at least I am not contributing to air pollution. ;-)

I agree that Microsoft knows exactly what they are doing in marketing the new X-Box. My son has decided to sell his Playstation Portable and use that money on the new x-box. Yes, they are about $400. and I doubt if that includes the accessories and games that they just "have to have with it." His name is on a waiting list. I'm still waiting for him to "outgrow" this video game thing, but it isn't happening.

The daughter wants a high-end digital camera...What happened to the days of going to Toys R Us and buying Legos and Barbies?

Suncat, definitely check out the sales online for digital cameras on Friday. I am amazed at the prices! 6MP for $199.

I hate shopping also. My sister and I did the Black Friday thing last year. Never, will I subject myself to that again. I will wait for the week before Christmas to do my shopping, like I usually do. The root canal, is so much less painful that getting all mixed up those crazy folks out there!!!!

I ran to Macy's this AM (had a lipstick crisis)- the mall was NUTS! Already! Bdarg just reminded me that some stores actually opened on T-giving last year to get a jump on the shoppers. Gimme a break. I think even Paris Hilton could take a day off from shopping once a year. OK, maybe she is a bad example.

Me, me! I have! So proud of myself, too. :D Two things for my daughter arrived yesterday, shipped at no charge from Amazon. And a couple of trips to TARGET ;-) , SS, have put a real dent in the shopping for the boys. I was feeling panicked last week, now I'm feeling a little bit smug! :floor:
