When I saw the title, I knew it would be good!!! I was not disappointed! Finally...it gets COOL to ride the BUS!

jdarg, between you and me, we could open up a super center straight from the Midwest! You know I also carry a supply store. My husband hates putting that humongous Es-Car-Go on top of the car but sometimes it really is necessary. Don't know why.... :funn:

If roadside camping were legal in Florida like it is in California, that Escabus may be cheaper than a condo. It may not have spinners, but dig that chrome pinstripe. It is phat. The only problem would be getting someone to ride in the "short bus." :funn:

I hate to waste time grocery shopping when I am at the beach, so I bring everything that doesn't require refrigeration- from garbage bags to cereal. Then when I hit Publix, I can just run around the perimeter of the store, grab the perishables, and run home!

This is a huge tangent- but what happened to the "Fruit Dude" up by the 331 bridge? That's what we called the guy w/the ponytail at that fruit stand. He was always so nice. I had a major fruit meltdown this summer- where am I supposed to find decent watermelon, peaches, and tomatoes next summer?

Mr. Cotton sold the property. There was a chance that the future widening of Hwy 331 was probably going to take most of his property anyway, so he sold it early last year, if I remember correctly. He told me that he was going to retire early. funn:He must be close to 70 years of age.)

The best place we found is in Clanton, Al. It is right off rt.65 and is the peach farm just west of the freeway. They have a great selection of fruit nad they have a indoor store that sells sandwiches and ice cream. We always look forward to stopping there on the way down. The peaches are the best.

My son always calls it the "Peach Butt". We stop there every year on the way down. They do have the best peaches in the world, and their peach salsa is to die for!!!

I've experienced such a stereo system - my daughter's. It's awesome. Really, when the hip-hop music is on, the bass is so strong that the seats vibrate, the mirrors vibrate, the whole car vibrates.

People do tend to stare when we're in the car because they don't expect two white chicks in a non-pimped-out car to have a sound system that strong. It's hilarious to see the looks of surprise on their faces when they see us. My husband is SOOOOO conservative - he can't tolerate it (even though he chose the system because he's into electronic toys).

BTW there's one of those peaches in Gaffney, SC on I-85. Always makes me giggle because it does look like a big butt.

IMHO South Carolina has the best peaches in the US. The freestones that are available in late June are incredibly good.

I will definitely stop there for peaches. But here is a question for the locals- where do you buy produce? Publix has much better produce than Winn Dixie, but still....I need a fruit stand! I pulled into Fruit Dude's parking lot last summer and almost cried!
