We took our son Will to his first big concert tonight- front row- Old Crow Medicine Show. I'm not sure which was more fun- being up front watching lots of strings busting and bow hairs flying, or watching my son totally blown away by the whole thing. It was really neat- had to share. And hopefully this will start a trend of him wanting to hear good music and appreciate musicians!

BTW- hopefully Dread Clampitt will be in town when we are- another front row opportunity! We love fiddles, banjos, and gee-tars....

Good for you, jdarg! Sounds like a wonderful evening.
Kentucky (in particular, Louisville) has provided some really fine music: My Morning Jacket, Bryan Hurst, Ike Reilly Assassination.
Any town that has LebowskiFest is okay by me.

MMJ was here a couple weeks ago - sold out, and we didn't have tix. It sounded like a blast!

Bon Jovi - did anyone else see them on Oprah a few months ago? Oh to be that lucky woman who answered her door and found Jon Bon Jovi on the landing with a pizza and flowers (though he might have chosen something other than Domino's!) Seriously, though, I was astounded with how "real" he came across in the interview. Seemed pretty down-to-earth to me. I would love to see them in concert as well as would the hubby - think we missed them here, though, so we'll have to wait until next time!

Dread left today for a couple weeks on the road, but will be home around the 17th or 18th and then will stay in town through Christmas, I think. If anyone is near any of the venues below, go out and hear them...
They played a great electric show last night with my husband's musical hero, Sam Bush. It was pretty amazing!

Saturday 3rd - The Stillwater Taproom - Augusta, GA 8:00

Tuesday 6th - The OHM Lounge - Syracuse, NY 8:00

Thursday 8th - Mexicali Blues Teaneck, NJ 8:00

Saturday 10th - The Electric Company - Utica, NY

Thursday 15th - Savanna's - Albany, NY opening for Wood Brothers (Chris and Oliver)

Friday 16th - private party Burlington, Vt.

Friday 23rd - Funky Blues Shack - Destin FL C.D. Release Party - Geaux Juice 10:15

Sorry, charlie. They are trying to get home for the Sunday the 17th show, but I'm not sure if they'll make it. Then the next Sunday is Kissmas. I'll keep you posted, though!

Jen I love you so much and I am sorry Balder will be gone for so long. I feel so guilty for not packing my bags earlier when I talked to you, and driving the 2 hours to Augusta to hear them play. That would be a dream! Oh and I think that Sun would be the 18th! So little sister may know some stuff huh!?
