reading about the birthdays and graduations got me thinking about partying, drinking etc. i am curious as to what everyone's favorite mixed drinks are? i am actually not working on new year's eve, and will be sitting at home listening to the police scanner and definitely drinking. yes, i know i am pathetic but it is entertaining, and much safer than being on the roads anyway, i am partial to long island iced teas, and am more than partial to veuve cliquot champagne - yum ! any other suggestions to try ?

Mine is Gin and Tonic with a twist of lime. YUM!!!! Hey Audie, I noticed in your profile that you are a pharmacist, what do you recommend for hangover relief? We all might need to know in the coming weeks.

keep yourself hydrated - drink lots and lots of water, esp. before going to bed, that's the best advice i can give you. except don't drink too much, so do what i say, and not what i do ! seriously i know some people swear by the hangover relief things you can buy, if they work for you - go for it ! maybe that should be a tangent ???

I have to say, the water is the best advice. I have never been one to do the "hair of the dog that bit you", because more alcohol is the last thing I want after I have over indulged. I will do as you say and not what you do. Thank you.

So Mcritz went to see Dread Clampitt last night and said it was funn! Unfortunatley I had many many commitments prior to my wild night so I'm going to catch them on Tuesday night.

I prefer "Pink Drinks" myself - which would be a Cosmo or just vodka & cranberry. Of course, these are completely healthy because I make them with real cranberry juice - I get lots of vitamin C!!!

Well, if you like champagne, you might like this--a yummy, pretty, festive drink is a glass of prosecco with a little splash of Chambord! It's really nice on NYE and Valentine's Day, too.

Well, if we're ever at the beach at the same time, I certainly will! I'm out of the champagne but I have a nice few bottles of good French creme de cassis.

Since I am among friends, I will tell you that last New Year's Eve we did not even celebrate. Why? We had our friends over for dinner the night before and we had a sumptuous French menu (we are all Francophiles) and 3 bottles of champagne and creme de cassis, in addition to the dinner wine. We all got very happily tipsy and Merman assures me that I spent the night in the bathroom puking my guts out but I don't believe him because I don't remember.

Mermaid is going to get broken in over New Year's though. We go hard the entire week. By the end of the week none of us have voices so it's quite the show.

Last year we capped it off with a trip to the Sugar Bowl. Unfortunately since it's not in New Orleans, Auburn decided to not waste the time to play in ATL. Can't blame them. I wouldn't go to Atlanta for the Sugar Bowl.

Has anybody ever tried Silk Nog mixed with whiskey? Same flavor as regular nog, but it's not as thick. That's my fave holiday drink! (or mixed with rum)

Rum and diet for me....yes I know thats pretty boring :roll: I really am a beer girl, had some very cute little seven ounce bud selects over the weekend :clap_1: and a good glass of wine can't be beat!!!!!! ;-)
