What would be an appropriate gift for a 15yo boy give to his 15yo girlfriend (going out about 2 mo.)? This is a 1st for my son & he's at a loss at to what to give her. So am I since I have no daughters. I've mentioned stuffed animals & he always says NOOOOOO! I'm not so sure why but my reasoning for this suggestion is it's inexpensive and a rather benign gift. He said the other girls are telling him to buy her a "cute little purse." I'm running out of time here and need some ideas. (He'll wait until Christmas Eve if I let him!!!!!)

We're getting our girls ready for those broken hearts and are planning to make a CD with "get-over-it" songs like: I will survive, These boots were Made for walking, Hit the Road Jack, Get Off of My Cloud, etc. Any other ideas?
Here's a few more:
"Love Stinks" by J. Geils Band...
"Sheep go to Heaven" by Cake....
"One" redone by Aimee Mann
"Don't Walk Away" by ELO
"I Loved You, So What" by Ani DiFranco
"Waking Up Beside You" by Stabbing Westward
"The Loudest Sound" by the Cure
"Immature" by Bjork
Don't Speak - by No Doubt
I love you, goodbye - Celine Dion
Don't Cry - Guns n Roses
Believe it or not, Paula, all I did was google "breakup songs" and I came up with a slew of them! Who knew, but it's an industry....

These are great suggestions! They all have to be "I'm over you" songs, though, and nothing that will make the girls pine away for the guy that got away.
I made one of these cds (well, they were tapes then) when I was in my late 20's/30s and still have it somewhere. I included an Italian song called "Parole, Parole" by Mina (it means "Words, Words - they're only words -- a fantastic duet), and Edith Piaf's "Je Ne Regrette Rien" (I regret nothing). I can't remember all the other songs, but I also had "Put another log on the fire... and tell me once again why you're leaving me?" by the Outlaws. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. by Aretha Franklin was on it, too. (I really have to find that fun tape.) I have to keep in mind that these songs will be for young girls today to help mend their tiny broken hearts when that starts happening. We're a while away from that but I'm sure those days will come soon. I welcome more ideas.
(sorry about changing this thread from gift from boy to girl.. to a thread on mending a broken young heart!)

Your son could make his girlfriend a cd of favorite songs they like. My daughter gives those as gifts and everyone seems to like it.

Excellent idea!!!
Making the CD is a great idea, but he opted for something more dazzling. He chose last night, a silver filigree heart shaped locket with her birthstone set in the middle. It's very beautiful and feminine. He is so excited to give it to her! I'm seeing lots of romance in his personality!

Sweet gift. I'm sure she'll love it. Even if the relationship doesn't last, her memories of him will always be sweet and special. And he can be quite pleased that he knows how to do something special for a girl. Nice boy you have there.

That is very sweet, and I predict she will love it and cherish it forever. Even if they don't "make" it, it will alway's be special to her. Please let us know what she thinks of it!!!!

ditto! :clap_1:
Jackie went to Fossil last night and picked out a t-shirt with a couple gnomes on it. I think it's appropriate and she hopes the new bf will like it.

You said it! I was going through my old jewelry box and found the gold charm with my initials on it that my first real boyfriend gave me! I still have it! In fact, I am getting ready to make a charm necklace or bracelet with all my charms and mementos from my younger days. I was so sad to see them just sit in my box!!!
ditto! :clap_1:That sounds like a good choice of a gift for their ages.
