we had christmas with my in-laws yesterday - i am not much of one for family gatherings so this was very stressful for me; don't function well in crowds. anyway, our brother-in-law couldn't stop bragging about their new house, their plasma tv, their jet-ski, their boat, their fancy computer set-up, blah blah blah blah. and the only thing i could think of was my god - how far in debt are these people ?? 😱 i have officially turned into mom and dad now, instead of envy over their possessions, i felt superior because i don't have nearly as much debt ! my pop would be so proud ....

Always a stressful time. Wish it was different. One of my siblings chose to not attend family functions as she claimed they were upsetting. (Only when she was there).

I'm having a sibling issue as well- nothing like Christmas to highlight family dysfunction, huh?

it's nice to see i am not alone in my misery. i always work christmas for 2 reasons: 1. to get out of family functions 2. the other 3rd shift pharmacist has 2 small kids, so i work christmas, he does new years eve.

i always swore i would never think like my parents do - too late !
