Anybody done one. Got any advise for a couple of Otters going on their 1st cruise :idontno:

Windjammer is a barefoot sailing cruise line. Not the Carnival style cruises.

RO...I looked at your link...what a trip of a lifetime! No dressing up is a major bonus and sleeping up on deck is way cool!! I might even load up on Ginger and go!!! My friend who lives on the sailboat says you get a perspective of these islands that is simply not possible if you stay on land. I wish you and GB a fabulous trip (or are you taking little otters?)...which islands do you wish to see this trip?

No little otters this time. We are looking at the Bahama route cause the flight to Miami is only $90.

No..it's good?

I used the horizon trick on the catamaran in Jamaica. After dancing with the island girl, because I had to break the ice for all the gringos on the boat, the seas were so choppy and swells were so high, I just fell down on the seat!!!

Oh, I hate I missed that one!!!! :floor:

For Christmas I got a great gift of sailing the Floriday Key's with our old high school English teacher. He used to take several of us each year during spring breaks to sail the Bahama's. He wants to take all of us back for a sail for the holiday's 2006. I am looking forward to it. However, I too get very sea sick. I have never tried the ginger, but I will. Below is the type boat we will sail on. Not exactly a Windjammer Cruise (because we have to work), but funn none the less. Have a great trip Otters.

I just thought about something. You may go crazy on a Windjammer Cruise. You won't be doing 147 mph. They may have to medicate you.

It will be LL....if that helps me not to get sea sick, then I am doing to the drinking!! I don't think hangovers are worse than sea sickness, are they?

 Hmmmm... that is something to consider, but I have been on sailboats in the ocean before (small ones) and it is fun. I have owned a cruiser before that was pretty slow (cruised at 17 knots). It's an acquired taste

I love them. My bro lives in Jacksonville on a 40' sailboat (ladies, he's single). I love the sound of a cruising sailboat. All you hear is sails and the sound of my hand digging around in the cooler.
