My daughter's school class is creating a game board to use as a fund raising project. They have great plans that are top secret at this point. The game will revolve around 30-A. Without spoiling their great idea, I'd like to hear from all of you about your favorite places on 30-A--whether it is beaches, restaurants, state parks, shops, businesses, etc. What represents 30-A to you?

Kurt,
You mentioned Eastern Lake Nursery went in where Gourd Garden was. Do they also have mostly native plants? Hope they're able to make a go of it.
Well yes - sort of. Their real native plant section has always been kind of small but they have a lot of native trees and nearly-native plants that do well here.

Other ideas:
SoWal.com
Native plants
State Parks (like Grayton state park as Smiling Joe mentioned)
Hurricanes?
If the kids want to include restaurants, shops, etc., perhaps those could be on "game cards" rather than the board so the board stays "timeless" and the cards could be changed, updated, etc.

"Nearly-native" is just as good!
I'll make it a point to get by there next time we're down.

Although I don't venture there often, the U.S. Post Office in Pt Washington has to make the list of most interesting places in SoWal. There is never a line in which to wait. 😀

sally's and bruno's.My understanding from the ladies in the General Store at Grayton Corners is that YellowFin is downsizing that store and they will merge into the General Store, selling only limited items through the General Store. They will still have the other shop in Seagrove.
