Yea, sentimental will get you every time. I have been ready to take mine down but my grandparents always left theirs up until after 1/10 (their wedding anniversary). I bought their house & feel guilty taking it down before then.

I'm the same way. I have a little boy who is really attached to it also. We've been telling him that the "Christmas tree going bye-bye" for a couple weeks now. I did at least take down the lights outside though.

It is almost perfect! It just needs a "pause" button, so that we can think about things before we answer.

Oh, so some men actually ANSWER????

LL...when do you start your new job? Have you gotten a crackberry or sidekick yet? You MUST....it would be tax deductable, right?

As far as I'm concerned, everything is deductable. I have to get with my dad on that. He's the king. I haven't gotten one yet, though. I'm sure I will..

My last day here is supposedly the 18th, but as we speak, I'm litterally sitting at my desk blowing bubbles so they may kick me out sooner. If I disappear mid-sentence, you'll know it happened so don't be worried. 😀

My absolute deadline for taking down all the Christmas things is Good Friday. I figure that would be a horrible insult to the Christ of Christmas to have his birthday tree up on that day. :( I've never procrastinated quite that much, fortunately. When the kids were little, I took the decorations away little by little so it was never a "here one day; gone the next" kind of thing for them.

I always forget how sentimental Christmas decorations are until I have to box them up.

LL, take that tree down right now!!! You're getting me worried. Ours is artificial so it could stay up until kingdom come. But yours is real so it could turn into a fire hazard! 😱 Take it away!
We grew up with an arificial Christmas Tree, and one year, my Mom (I say "Mom" because Dad never had anything to do with decorating) did not take down the tree until August.

SJ, your mom would have made a good Yankee. In fact, a better one than the real thing. (Yankees leave lights up until July and don't care a whit what anyone has to say about it. )

mr audie put the tree up the day after thanksgiving - i am not allowed to help because i am too sloppy and he wants his tree perfect (whatever !) so he does it while i am working. on the other hand when it comes time to take it down, he's begging for help, so i just pull all the ornaments off in a big pile then he cusses at me while he sorts them. i truly love to aggravate that man !!!! my mom says "he's such a sweet boy why are you so mean to him ?"

LL & Mermaid - you are not alone. Mine is still up as well. I hope to get to it this weekend.

We have a big fake tree - one of those goofy tall skinny ones, but I needed a really tall tree. Anyway, I took the ornaments off Sunday, but like last year, I'm leaving the tree up with the lights on to keep me cheerful through March.
