Next trip to SoWal???

I just found out last night that my corporate wife duties have been changed and I may be able to escape to SoWal soon!!! I am awaiting WC's reply to my email to find out when our place is available the next two months. I don't want to be there during Spring Break, so I am looking at end of Jan and Feb.

So, anyone else planning a journey? How about that bus idea?

Hey BR, I know you aren't all that keen on the new Shades at the loop ( it really sucks about your favorite bar) But....it really is a great sports bar. My husband and son caught a couple of games there and it was really good. Of course it is closer to us so that's also a plus. We liked it a lot better than the sports bar in Carillon.
Okay, I'll Shades at the Loop a chance. It's just that Seaside is so close; the new location is not as convenient.

SS, I dunno about the weather. I get really bummed out when it's mostly cloudy or raining.

I know. We can't seem to catch a break on our end of 30-a for places close by to dine. I think that's why we are so excited about S@tL. I agree it does lack the ambiance of the Seaside location, but....it is a good sports bar. Let me know what you think.

I'm so desperate to get to the beach that I would drink beer sitting in a plastic chair in the Tom Thumb parking lot. Anyone care to join me? Of course I would make my own SoWal huggie for my beer.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again....a bad weather day in SoWal is better than a good day in Dallas!!!

I will NEVER ride a bus farther than 20 miles again after 15 hours on a bus to NYC- with 32 6th graders- last spring. I think I still need therapy - mental and physical!


I would walk to the beach first. Maybe Mermaid or Peapod will see me thumbing it on I-65.
