Really. I'm re-doing my bedroom and want something really cool above the bed. We have a log home so it's kind of hard to decorate but I'm usually able to pull off the look I want. I'm using reds and dark gold in the bedroom this time. I've got dark antique furniture and want to have a somewhat "rich" feel to it with different texture fabrics. So far I have a tapestry like comforter set and a couple of silk throw pillows with tassels. The comforter has a band of velvet like fabric around the edges. Any ideas? :idontno:

I need a shelf with water, Advil, my reading glasses, a bat to hit Bdarg with when he is snoring, the phone, and the TV remote.
Sorry, cant' help you on the decor. We moved into this house 5 years ago, I was pregnant, had Kate, and decoratin has been moving pretty slow since. Bdarg built a beautiful bed copied from one we saw in a magazine, so right now it is standing on its own.

We have a huge, wild & unruly wreath made out of huckleberry twigs. Bought from a roadside shack in Alabama. No adornments, just a wild wreath. It's really very beautiful but sort of rugged. I think wreaths are out of style now, but I will probably never give this one up.
Peapod, I love the painting and the colors.

Above our bed is faded wallpaper that frames the rectangle where a picture used to be. It's not a very good look - I wouldn't recommend it.

A small etching of a pink flowering plum tree, which reflects the real thing, a flowering plum planted at the outer edge of the deck outside our bedroom window.

Well, we're still renting, and might be for some time. ::sigh::
But our own bed has a bunch of vintage travel postcards built into the headboard. It looks better than it sounds. And above that, we used to have a Sun and Sea print by Max Hayslette.

I don't have a pic of our bed, but this is it- Bdarg built the king version, and made it very high. It is awesome!

I have nothing on the wall because the headboard is so huge. It is a huge handcarved tree--my guess it was carved in Mexico :idontno: , but it's pretty cool, just a bi*ch to dust!
