Is it wrong....?

....to get PO'd when you try to do the Christian thing and take your dog out in the pouring rain, during a pre-tropical storm, in the pitch-black dark, so that she can poop (because her eyes are bulging, and she's doing the "doo-doo dance") and she won't poop, and only wants to go back inside because it's raining? :bang:

Now understand, please, that said dog loves to run in the puddles, ditches, bay, etc., but gets "prissy" when she gets a few drops of rain on her! And like she gives a &*$# (actually, that's what I WANTED her to do) that I'M getting soaked! It's just not right......

Irony.....what a concept.:idontno:

It's okay. I have one that won't go in the dark. I have to have potty pads downstairs in the basement for that.:bang:

Why can't you just turn some lights on outside? :idontno:

Sweet Pea won't poopy in her yard. We walk twice a day: rain, snow, sleet or shine! Better to walk them than to leave them outside in the elements....... :(

That's what doghouses are for - to keep off the rain and the wind - the Scooterhounds even have body heat activated heaters to keep them warm on cold nights.

I tried getting The General in a dog house that was big enough for all of us. After throwing bones in there and he still sat stubborn as a Hound and stared at me, I crawled in to show him it was groovy.

Never got used and when I sold that house, the dog house stayed.

All that BS about "third time's a charm" is just that!!! I gave up, and put her in her kennel, and told her to make due until "mommy" comes home! Mommy has the patience to take her to that "special spot" (even in the pouring rain), and clean her little tootsies when I'd just as soon cut them off and BBQ them! As I told my wife.....our little angel's in a bad spot now in that she's the perfect size (at about 80 lbs) to be the "fur coat" my wife always wanted, and still young enough (at just about a year) to be still tender victuals. I come from the boonies....where a pet is a pet only until they are dinner......and being PO'd makes me hungry.

 Mental image of you sitting in a recliner scowling at a wet dog!

....with her scowling back with the "you are a total "$&^!bird" look at me...... With a wife and two 9-year-olds, I'm used to it.

Rain poncho, still drying out. Daisy won't go in our yard either. Most of the time that is a good thing. Not last night!

Pepper won't go out when it's raining or even when the patio is wet. :bang: So in the garage we put down contractors' paper covered with newspapers (apparently the breeder paper-trained her before they delivered her to us) so that she can take care of business. Gross, I know. Our other poodles were okay with a raincoat on, but Miss Pep doesn't want to get her feet wet. Talk about a prima donna.

Next dog while still a puppy, train to potty on command, and you will not have to deal with this, also makes traveling easier.

The Scooterhounds might get particular about going to the restroom when it's yucky out, but going to the bathroom inside is not an option! They just have to do it quickly! Heck, we're out there too!

What a funny thread. But, so true and close to home. Some of ya'll know my pooch who prefers to sit and watch the outdoors and beach view from the couch. At least we have big porch overhangs all around the house for potty time when it is raining! He is such a champ that when we are not available for that outside trip, he goes to the utility room bathroom. These storms are tricky though. I usually watch the weather channel during bad storms to look for a break to take him out.
