Payback Time: Why Right-Wing Men Rush to Palin's Defense - The Gaggle Blog - Newsweek.com

Eleanor Clift says that this is an opportunity for conservative men to put to rest any notion they are sexist. There may be something to this, but there's another side to this coin. Palin is certainly an opportunity for me to put to rest any notion I'm a knee-jerk feminist.
.....exactly what is a knee-jerk feminist....I know you aren't one, but not sure what one is? By the way, I like Palin so does that make me a knee jerk feminist/
Hey...She hunts , fishes, and snowboards, and she is "hotter" looking than Hillary, Condeleza, or Nancy --she is really totally acceptible as "one of the guys," even without the political framing.

Knee-jerkism means support is not based on sincere appraisal of the candidate. Clearly Palin was picked in order to capitalize on this with disgruntled Hillary supporters, and clearly the plan failed miserably. If we could somehow get western Pensylvania to clone itself and multiply like a virus, Palin would have a shot at the Presidency.

what's the appeal?

Basically what I got from the article is that Palin is the "token female" who proves the Republicans aren't sexist - basically the same flawed logic that you aren't racist if you claim to have A black friend.
