We're Going to American Idol

We're going to American Idol to be in the audience on April 4. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are in the movie business in Los Angeles and through their connections got 8 tickets to be in the audience (we have two kids; they have two kids). Soooo, we're VERY excited about this. We'll bring our SoWal stickers just in case they show the audience. I'll be the one dancing in the aisles like Tyler (Taylor?) Hicks.

OMG that will be funn!!! I hate to admit it.....but I kind of like that Taylor hicks guy, he's so Memphis and very different........... :lol:

We can't wait. I really like the Taylor (Tyler) Hicks guy. I don't think he's going to win, but he might and I think he'll get up to the last 5 or 6 people. He truly loves his music and he's his own person -- that's what I like about him. I like his voice, too. I don't know who I want to win yet... Probably Chris or Kelly.

Kimmifunn, you and others met my brother in law and sister in law on Grayton beach during the Christmas/New Years week. She directed a movie called "The Last Supper" (not that last supper -- it's about graduate students) and he starred in it (he plays Michael I think) about 10 years ago. Sometimes you can get it at video stores. It's a good movie. She also just finished directing Snoop Dog's House of Horrors (ha!) though it's unclear when and if that will come out. They were up for an Academy Award about 13 years ago for a "short" film they did (they didn't win but they now get to vote at the Academy). They're really funn relatives for sure! They're the city folk; we're the country folk.

That's too cool! They must live out in Lala land! That's so neat to have people who can pull those kinds of strings. I get 6 tickets to the Tgiving Parade, not much to go around...but hey- better than nothing! ;-)

When your best friend gets back, please have her post to let us know what to expect... what to wear... how to make the best use of our time... where to sit if we have a choice, etc. My sister-in-law knows a lot of this already because she's been there with her family a few times already, but it's funn to hear different ideas.

Paula, I'm green with envy. We always watch American Idol. It's funny how attached you get to these young kids when you watch them from their first audition when they're all rough and raw and then, the weekly transformation as they get better and better and more polished. I will do...she is supposed to decide sometime today if she is able to go...I"ll get the scoop! Taylor has played down here at Snapperheads and 331. But that was before :lol:

We started watching American Idol in Feb 05 when we were at our Cottage on 30A. I was there with the kids, my two sisters, and a niece and nephew. We had never watched American Idol (and resisted it) until we watched it one night together (my sisters had watched it before) and we got into it as a family. It has turned out to be such a fun thing to do together on weeknights -- we just sit on the couch together, have a snack, and talk about who's up next, who deserves to be voted in and off, what's going to happen, whether the song was a good match for the person, etc.

Of course, I like to thrown in my attempt at life lessons from American Idol but the kids wisely ignore me when I do that.

I grew up watching Ed Sullivan with my family and our kids are growing up with American Idol. The big difference to me is that American Idol is interactive (and they don't have Topo Gigio).

Sounds great. I will have to leave work early that day to see you, but I'll be looking.

Paula -- just know you will have fun at American Idol. Taylor if fantastic in my book!! Love to watch him as he gets into his music.
