Trying to help

What are you trying to do exactly?

I am trying to build a facility for the community and their families for a one stop shop of health, entertainment, and services. I've helped the elderly community in this area for 5 years and get the same question asked? What is there to do here, where can we get help? I have the plans, now I need community help.

I believe there is some sort of senior center on N. 393- I remember a sign. Is it open?

Teresa Miller knows the senior care business, she is an excellent person to head up a project like this,,,,and more senior care is desperately needed now and will be in the future for South Walton.

Our seniors love their senior center. Whether they are playing video games like bowling with the Wii, taking art classes or getting a car check clinic, they are busy and active in DeFuniak. The senior center is a gem in our community and I hope you guys can be the same!

I took a peek in there a while back and decided my mom probably wouldn't want to spend a lot of time there. It might be a great little center in a trailer for all I know, but that was my impression. I hear great things about the new senior center in DeFuniak. Wish there was one like it down here.

I talked to Cecilia Jones today at the Chamber lunch- and she agreed there are quite a few services and facilities that are available in NoWal but not in SoWal. Let's add a nice senior center to the list!

I think that they are working on plans to add on to that facility on 393. A contractor I know said that he was bidding on the work, but I don't have any real information. Might be worth asking the center about.
