PCB Vote yesterday

Yesterday, Panama City Beach had a referendum to abandon several beach public beach accesses and offer them at fair market value. They were shut down by a vote of about 2 to 1, with only about 350 showing up at the polls. Yes, only 350 voted. LOOK OUT! It appears that the gov't didn't make it well known that there was a vote to make. It wouldn't surprise me if Walton Co tried to sneak one in too.

One kicker to this is that the Supervisor of Elections ran two ads announcing this election -- with the wrong date of voting! They did run a correction ad though.

I don't live on The Beach (PCB), but I listen to the news out of PCB, and I first heard of the referendum yesterday afternoon on the evening news -- Announcing the results of the vote.

All the more reason to stay in touch with SoWal.com for notices, etc. I'm not a citizen of SoWal so can't vote, but I can certainly pass the word on important issues to people I know who are residents.
