You can use a camera, but it's not required and it randomly connects you with another person(s) from somewhere in the world. I chatted with a person in France who took me on a tour of their cabin in the woods, it was beautiful. That was also a rare occurrence. I have seen things that cannot be unseen as well.

I usually put the camera on the cat and let him chat. Lots of stoners with questions for a typing cat.
