Kites at the Beach

Allifunn's avatar is fantastic! Which made me think of flying kites at the beach!

My family loves it- Bdarg used to get them up in the air and tie them to the chairs, boats, etc. It was a tradition to buy a cool new kite every year, then the large number of kites started taking up too much room in the car! That, coupled with hauling Kate's stuff, kinda put a damper on our kite flying. We have only been flying singles for the past several years.

Since Kate is a "big girl" now and we don't need to haul the baby gear anymore, I think it is time to bring lots of kites to the beach again!

2 years ago, we were in DC for spring break, and were lucky enough to be on the Mall for the kite flying festival. It was unbelieveable!

Do I look like the type of person who gives a crap about what other people think about me? :idontno:

I obviously don't care what my neighbors think today. I just took my Christmas tree outside to the deck, and in a minute I am getting out the leaf blower and blow the dust off that sucker. I left it up with lights only to keep me cheery through the winter. Now that it is almost April (even though it feels like winter), I figured it is time to put the tree away.

But now I'm kinda liking how it looks on the deck. I'm sure the neighbors will talk.:floor:

Back to kites, it is a nice blustery day, but too dam cold to fly kites here.

jdarg, strap that puppy to the car the next time you head to SoWal! Imagine the looks as you cruise 30A with a tree atop your ride. :floor:

it's cold here too jdarg, 34 degrees, and hailing these little snow balls or something, it's weird. the dog is enjoying it tho.

I would, but it might be a little much since we already haul 2 luggage carriers on top and 3 bikes on the back.:oops: I have packing issues.

me too guys - i thought i was the only one that takes everything but the kitchen sink ! we have an avalanche that we pack so tight for just the 2 of us that when the tailgate is opened crap spews everywhere !

if i think of it i will take a pic of the back of the truck when we leave, it is hideous ! for 2 people !
