Last weekend my son, daughter-in-law and two grandbabies (ages 3 and 1) came to help me celebrate my **th birthday...okay my 60th birthday...yikes. We screened "Cinderella" for our 3 year old grandson, Henry. We thought it would be wonderful for him...he was afraid of the cat "Lucifer" and of the wicked step-mother and also didn't like the two "sisty uglers" (as my husband called them). We had to have the lights full on. Our son e-mailed to say he did talk about it all the next day though, and didn't have any nightmares...thank goodness. Gee, it's difficult getting old and out of it!
Our daughter-in-law, Terra, was showing us how Jeffrey (just turned 1) could "do" ring-around-the-rosy. In his excitement he WALKED four steps from his mother to his father. Amazing to see. I still can't really believe we actually were there to see him take his first steps! I must say, those were his last steps here, as he became very, very "concerned" about making sure he had something to hold onto while his maneuvered about after that.
Isn't that just the best!
Henry is very interested in the "beach". I hope we'll be able to have them down next year.

I know!...my son is an "only"...needless to say, I deeply respect and admire those who choose to have child"ren". When I was young with a one year old, working full time, designing and supervising the building of our home...I about lost my mind! I think they make young people today "sturdier" or of sounder stuff at the least! LOL

i hear what you're saying. i am child free, but my sis works full time has a 3 yr old and one in the oven. i don't know how (or why) she does it - i would be in the nuthouse. i love my nephew something fierce, but thank god he goes home !
