There is a fellow I just met at the barber shop who doesn't realize how close he just came to getting choked- by me.
As I was getting my haircut he impatiently waited for his turn ("any idea how much longer", "will I lose my place in line if I come back in a bit"). But instead of leaving like he announced, he started reading the bible.
He informed everyone that the book of revelations predicted the damage our water is about to receive from the oil spill. And then informed us that all of his friends in the oil industry have said that something doesn't add up with this incident and that he's no conspiracy theorist but that "everybody knows that Obama has all these followers who support alternative energy and there are billions of dollars to be made here".
I still kept quiet in my chair- snip, snip, snip (hair falling).
"I'm not saying it was sabbotage but you gotta follow the money. You always gotta ask who stands to gain and here it's the environmentalists. I mean this is tragic. Ga prices have spiked already!"
Before it was over I told him I hoped gas was $20.00 a gallon. Other than that, I remained polite in our discourse.

Hitler had the bible memorized, Satan lived with God before he was kicked out (who quoted scripture to Jesus) but not with the intent of saving him, and other people that quote scripture may or may not be walking with God. Jesus said you'll know them by their fruit. In other words, you'll know who people are by what they produce.

Do ya think its just a coincidence that he pals around with terrorists, and people who would deliberately destroy an oil platform to weaken our resolve to be free of the tyrannical governments of places like Iraq, Iran, and north korea. This is in God's hands, and we respect the lord for it is he who caused this to happen and it is he who will punish those socialists who strive to weaken our blessed nation.:nono1:

Geo - you are a good guy. it would have been extremely difficult for anyone to have to listen to that BS. Ignoring is always the best choice, but who can ignore something so whacky in a world that seems to be getting whackier by the minute.

Ha- you give me too much credit. If I was such a good guy I would have realized there is no hope for him, shut my mouth completely and not let him get to me. But I am only human so I couldn't (and didn't) let him off the hook.
While he was a captive audience waiting for my chair I shared some commentary of my own and presented some facts on the subject. I doubt anything penetrated.

yes, we've seen some really bizarre trolls around here in the past but they are never accepted by SoWal.com members who care enough about the online community to quickly and soundly reject such BS comments. Trolls are not useful to anyone - online or off.
