Thanks for the prayers and warm thoughts ya'll. Grandmom's surgery went very well, the replacement valve went in just right, they were able to pull an artery from somewhere in her chest rather than her leg for her bypass, and she came off the vent this afternoon late and was able to sit up in a chair a bit!

She's a tough cookie!! She's in a cardiac ICU unit but has her own room and is being monitored closely. I was there most of today. Depending on her room, I may be spending the night with her Wednesday night. There were about a dozen of us there today but we'll be coming in shifts the rest of the week.

Sorry I missed this earlier, BA. Will pray for your Grandmom's quick and complete recovery.

Just spoke with my uncle a few minutes ago and he'd just left the hospital. He said she looks great, she's not complaining of pain at all and hyrdocodone is working for her (she has problems with some pain meds), her color is great and her mood is great. I'm just thrilled to pieces! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!!

I talked to my Grandmom this afternoon and she walked 400ft this am, 600ft at lunch and 800ft this afternoon and planned to walk 800ft this evening. My Granddaddy and an aunt and uncle were there today. I'm buzzing over to see her tomorrow morning before heading to East Texas to help with some fundraising for her pet project, our heritage park. She sounds just wonderful and says that she plans to go home tomorrow and has told the dr's, they've not agreed yet and I figure it'll be Saturday at best but she's working on them!

My Grandmom came home yesterday afternoon late-amazing since she was supposed to be in the hospital for 7-9 days! She looks great and feels great, she walked a mile total yesterday and was going to walk that far again today. It was kinda short notice when she was on the way home yesterday so I picked them up some food and brought it over. I made them dinner earlier today and visited a while and she's just doing so well! My aunt and uncle will be over there tomorrow for the annual Mother's Day grilling out and fix the Mothers Day margaritas-family tradition continues!!
