I haven't been following this race. Just saw this ad without any context. It made quite the first impression on me of the ad and as such- of the candidate and his campaign.
Just curious if it is just me. Watch and tell me what u think. I'll share my thoughts in a bit...

Medicare and medicaid fraud and violation of the Stark Act. Check it out. It boggles my mind that someone like him has the nerve to show his face in public, let alone run for office.

If you vote Republican, it's between him and McCollum. Party affiliation aside, I wish I felt comfortable with ANY of the candidates for Governor.
But really, that's nothing new. I only became a Crist fan last Friday.

Is he the one running against the "let's enact Arizona immigration policy in FL" guy?

Thanks, I leave the room or switch the channel when political ads come on.
Looks like I am voting for the gay oompa loompa.

It beats the hell out of those who creat fraud, lie to the public and indirectly mislead on issues. I agree that he probably should not be running as his chances are nil but I certainly admire his gutsy attitude. BTW, there is more than enough Medicare and Medicaid fraud to go around.

Andy with due respect, there are a lot of middle/upper management of HCA that would disagree with his truthfulness. He was lucky period. Truthfulness wasn't in his vocabulary back then, until he was questioned by the feds.....
His style of "truth" makes him a perfect politician.

I wish candidates couldn't run ads for political races. So many people will use an ad to try and win votes and set a tone for who they truly are. Perhaps a track record, resume and debates should be all that is allowed to base our decisions.

While I understand what you are saying, I learn a lot from the ads as stupid and irresponsible as some of them are. That, in itself, is often revealing as to what kind of representation you will receive from a candidate if he/she is elected. I think most citizens are intelligent enough to interpret what is proposed to them successfully.

The ads come on so often they turn you against the candidates. I'm to the point where I can't stand the sight of him let alone vote for him!

I thought it was a joke the first time I saw the ad- like Dargvader had left on the Jon Stewart show or something. Then I saw the ad again. Really people, Rick Scott? Surely the FL GOP has someone less criminal?

I respectfully disagree. I think that the majority of the people in the USA will believe most of the garbage fed to them by politicians, newspapers, and television.
I do agree that you can learn something about a candidate when they sling mud, but acting cordial alone, doesn't win my vote.

The guy is one long string of business successes. Quite an impressive professional record.

maybe you need to look a bit beyond Wikipedia for your data, Shopper.

He tries to say he accepted responsibility for the actions of his company, but he did not quit, he was fired. He says HCA hospitals were graded higher and provided better service at a lower cost, but he stole. I don't get it, I guess if your successful things become screwed up with regards to what is right or wrong. Its obvious we as a society have really messed up, what we will accept as qualified. Scary

::looks at the home page for half a dozen Florida newspapers today::
I think we're going to need to do some digging on that one.
As for the alleged claim that HCA hospitals provide quality health care at low costs, I'm calling shennanigans on that one. There are a number of insurers who won't write policies in Okaloosa County because HCA has an effective monopoly on hospitalization for the area south of I-10 and charges monopoly prices that were described in the late 90s as 'highest hospital charges in the Southeast' for many common procedures. As for quality, Fort Walton Beach Medical Center thoroughly deserves its horrible reputation, and I am overjoyed that Sacred Heart Emerald Coast has come to offer a higher qaulity option in the area.

Although I am not a fan of the Fort Walton Beach ER, I recently did a stint in their ICU and their version of a step down unit, the quality of care was first rate and the staff was great. I wouldn't go to the ER unless it was my last resort.

If the next commercial he does involves supporting succession of the state of Fla. from the U.S., as it is with the dumb bass Texas governor named "Rick", I wouldn't be surprised.

Andy he did start that ad until his opponent brought the information to the public's attention, just saying.

Not AA, but Dick didn't bring up his past in the ads until it was presented in an ad that's not endorsed by McCollum.
I'm sure that he was working on the ad to disclose his past but just didn't get it out before the opposition discussed it....
