DD, it's not that I haven't heard any good toasts........... it's just that I can't remember them!

What's the best toast you've ever heard?
I had a lovely potato bread toast the other day just dripping in butter! It was practically screaming for me to eat it! Best toast I ever heard... *innocent blinks*

I like, "To your good health!" Or, "Bon Sante!"
I really like the one in It's A Wonderful Life:
Bread, that this house may never know hunger
Salt, that life may always have flavor
And, wine, that joy and prosperity may reign forever!
Sweet, isn't it?

I don't remember the entire wedding toast, it was personalized but this was added somewhere in it - after this part was read I cried like a baby & don't remember the rest:
"Here's to marriage, that happy estate that resembles a pair of scissors: So joined that they cannot be separated, often moving in opposite directions, yet punishing anyone who comes between them."

Here's to those who wish up well,
And those who don't can go to hell!

Friends may come and friends may go,
Friends peter out, you know
But we'll be friends thru thick or thin,
Peter out or peter in.
I read this on a bathroom wall years ago, can't remember any Shakespeare but this doggrel stuck in my mind.
