A friend of mine is a weather man here in Montgomery and posted this. He mentioned that he pays attention when 2 global models to show the exact same thing at the same time. Thought y'all might want to take a look.

Please disregard how he spelled "mischief".

Alabama Weather ? Future Tropical Mischeif?

I don't know, but with the oil spill I'm rooting for the purple line!

Go Blue and Purple!

It might sound nuts, but it's our best hope. BP and the government aren't doing a damn thing and this might just push the oil back away from us. Hurricanes turn in a counter clockwise motion and reduce in strength as they move on land. From that position it could blow the oil westward and then weaken enough not to push it back around.

The center would have to come ashorel east of here in order to push the oil back out. A landfalling storm west of us, say Pensacola, would bring the storm surge here, and the oil with it.

Oh well, it's just one more thing we have absolutely no control over. Life's funny that way... ;-)

Looks like it's just gonna stir up the wave action in the Gulf. Normally the surfers would be waxing their boards already.

I've consistently found the ECWMF Site to have the best predictions. You can watch an animation of their Gulf predictions here. To see the latest, just press the Play button labeled Step (-> valid time)

I've been watching this storm since late last week on there and they've been dead on.
