It was one of many I considered for an avatar (but ultimately I couldn't resist the animation!)

The 34th street windows for the flower show. Barf. It's more about the artist featured.
I know tft. I'm tempted to go to lunch, come back, then deal with it.
Kimmifunn, Google the Southeastern Flower Show in Atlanta. The theme was Italian and might be an inspiration.

My masterpiece. Almost done! :clap_1:
New York, NY- April 2006- Art complements fashion in the most breathtaking way at Macy?s Herald Square. Gracing the windows of the World?s Largest Store, in celebration of the 32nd Annual Macy?s Flower Show?, renowned artist, Vangelis has teamed up with Macy?s to showcase his unique floral art. Combining the hottest Spring Fashions of designers such as Betsey Johnson, Anna Sui, Coach and Michael Kors with the ?floating? floral art of Vangelis, New Yorkers and tourists alike will get a dose of art along with their fashion fix.
Vangelis quote...
Created by Macy?s Herald Square Director of Windows, Paul Olszewski, each window combines a whimsical Spring Fashion story against the backdrop of Vangelis? floral art. (Paul?s quote) The paintings are suspended at various angles and spring to life with the fluttering help of butterflies, dragonflies, humming birds and buzzing bees. Paintings with titles such as Jealousy, Superstition and Power of Growth stop traffic in busy Herald Square. Forty-two paintings are featured in 24 windows running along 34th street. Handbags, shoes and spring accessories drift through the windows to complete the flowering story.
Vangelis, a native of the Greek island of Crete, was an oil painter from a young age. Early in his career, Vangelis sold his paintings of whitewashed buildings and azure blue seas of his native Greece to visiting tourists. As the years passed he honed his technique while studying the tradition of the old masters, focusing on quality and attention to detail. Vangelis brought his talent to the United States in 1972 where he began to explore nature, hence his new love of expressing the intangible emotional concept of flowers.
The 32nd annual Macy?s Flower Show remains in full bloom through Sunday, April 23rd. Free to the public, the Show is open during regular store hours, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Sunday. The store will be closed on Sunday, April 16th in observance of Easter Sunday. For additional information about the events contact the Macy?s Flower Show Hotline at (212) 494-4495.
