I know on the grand scale of things, this is petty, but I need a good shampoo. I want shine, I want volume, I want bounce and I want it for less than thirty flippin' dollars a bottle.

I'm a big fan of Neutrogena's Triple Renewal, Aveeno's Nourish + Moisturize, and Infusium 23's (Colour)ology. All produce the desired results, but I rotate them out so my hair doesn't get bored.
Oh, and I use the purple shampoo from Sally's when my blonde needs a pick-me-up... Good stuff!

Your hair gets bored. Maybe that's why mine is flat these days....

I love Aveda's madder root shampoo - doesn't weigh my hair down and it adds red tones that turn the white hair I am getting from the damn oil spill strawberry blonde.
I find it also helps to switch it up once a week or so - so I also use Herbal Essences, Soap Peddler's shampoo/bubble bath, or whatever is in the shower I am using.

When I was 12 years old my uncle took me to a cavern in Virginia. At the bottom of the cavern was a magical pool where if you drank the waters, you would never go bald. When I was offered my turn at the pool, I forsook the cup and plunged my head in drinking deeply. Ever since then, even at my relatively advancing years, never had any issues with my hair whatsoever. ;-)

I have long hair that's pretty thick but also fine, I have to wash my hair daily due to an oily scalp but I can't use shampoo for oily hair or it dries my scalp and hair out.
I love Biolage Hydrating Shampoo and from time to time I'll use a change up shampoo to make sure I don't get build up (like 2-3 times/month). I also use biolage conditioner 2-3 times/week. I use a half water half biolage leave in treatment to detangle my hair and prep for drying and last but not least after my hair is dry, I spray a little half water half Biolage smoothing hair shine and run my hands thru my hair with it.

So, I'm not sure what has happened but my hair is thicker and fuller these days than the past two years - quite possibly due to a reduction of stress.
But, I use Suave because many years ago, they had great commercials, which made sense. However, I do mix it up and use a yummy spicy shampoo from Sephora and one of those Paul Mitchell's, too. Not a lot of conditioner, but use Chi to calm the natural curl and wave.
P.S. I really like the shampoo at the Ritz. Not sure what it is, but I'll bet someone at Corporate would share that secret.

You have beautiful hair! I need a recommendation for a cut and color from somewhere. I have really long hair, so they need to be able to work with that. Any suggestions?
Well, it sounds crazy, but I've been going to this adorable little girl at the Walmart in PCB. I ducked in there one day because I had something going on the following day and desperately needed it cut, but couldn't get in with any of my usual salons (I've got about every salon in SoWal's number stored in my phone...) I just needed a good shape up, and I was a little worried, because she's young (19) but she gave me one of the best cuts I've ever had! And as it grew, it continued to look good (a lot of times, mine will kind of just lose it's shape completely because it's so thick). So I went back, again and again. She's never given me a bad cut, ever! If you go out there, ask for Chris and tell her Kit sent you.

I also love Debbie at A-List in Seagrove--she and her daughters have got hair a lot like yours, so she really knows how to work with it-- and Sheila Wickman at Salon Centric on 98 (who used to own Head to Toe years ago).
PM me if you want numbers...

Herbal Essences Hydralicious. Smells great, works great, and the best bargain at $4.00 a bottle. On sale- $2.50- $2.99. One of the best shampoo and conditioner I have ever used vs. the more expensive brands. You also do not need a lot because it produces a rich lather. Most woman would probably pass it by because it has a youthful look to the bottle. I learned about this shampoo from a focus group I attended.
The woman were also ranting about Loreal Everpure since it did not contain sulfates and it helped their color to last much longer and their hair was healthier.

If they're anything like WaterColor then you've fallen head over heels in love with White Rain. :funn:
