We are painting today. My beloved "red room" (formal living/ding room) is going beige. Mermy, if you're reading this, I'll be thinking of you.
Our painting projects tend to go sort of like gttbm's. Lord help.

p.s.--KISH, I'm saving the entry for you.

Godspeed. I know it will be beautiful. What shade of beige are you going with? Merm does a superb job with recommending colors.

I don't foresee any more painting projects in our near future. I've put a ban on FBB and scaffolding of any kind for quite some time. Too bad since I had finally convinced him to get rid of that hideous green at our house in Seagrove.

Happy painting love!

I can't remember the name of the beige. I'll look and get back to you.
I just saw the title of this thread is almost the same as yours when you painted.
Thanks, honey.
I will report in later.

Well, Y'all are just the paintingest crew eva! DD, don't forget that every Southern home has to have at least one red wall. :)
A friend of mine just bought a new home and is painting the ceiling in one room red???
This will be interesting, indeed!

Give us progress reports of you and Mr. DD's project. Mushroom Beige sounds groovy!

LuLu, I'm down to NO red walls. :( It's just boring beige now. Actually, it does look nice. It will just take some adjusting on my part. I do feel the need to paint the ceiling now too, but will leave that to a professional. Next comes the entry. Kish, your ticket's on it's way! :D New paint colors make it necessary to re-decorate though. I see some furniture painting, buying in my future.

Good luck, DD! At least you two have finished some painting projects, so you should be good. My sister says that off-white/beige is really popular in Dallas.

We tried a DIY in the master bathroom a few years ago. Hubby stripped off the dated wallpaper and got frustrated smoothing out the walls. I couldn't decide on a color. Finally we ran out of time due to getting ready for the wedding reception and just hired someone to do it.

We've done a lot of DIY painting at the beach because it needs to be done every two years (one of the many "advantages" of having a house at the beach). We'd spend a week of "vacation" here and there and paint a section at a time, finishing it all over a period of two years. Problem is that paint fades like crazy at the beach, so by the time we'd finish it all, the different sections were different shades of the base color. Our daughter joked that it looked like the house was painted in camouflage. So last year we hired someone to paint it all at once.

Have fun!

DD, I likey...once i goggled past the recipes for beige bisque. Are you so glad it's over? Pucking men, they make things way harder than they are. But ya gotta love 'em.

Sheila, it looks nothing like what's online. The sample online looks sort of pink to me. This has no pink whatsoever. Anyway, yeah, I'm glad it's over. I'm trying to decide now if I should paint the wood trim white. He says no, I say yes. He says "well then, where do you stop." I say we just keep going and paint it all white!

BR, I'd be hiring someone if my budget minded spouse would whip out the checkbook.

Hey DD, seems like I am painting a lot lately too! I am going to paint my mom's bathroom later this week. She asked me to help her. And I just painted my back patio last weekend. It was mostly touch up paint from years of wear. The thing about painting is that it is a real pain but it is easy enough to do yourself. I had some bids on painting my bedroom, a hall and two bathrooms this past week from a slab leak that we had and they were really high. I may be doing some more painting as soon as the contractors fix the damage that was done by the leak. As a matter of fact does anyone have any suggestions on paint colors for bathrooms??

My mom's bathroom turned out great! We painted it beige (well one of the 1 million shades of beige)! Picking out the right color to paint is crazy!! Any color was better than the blue and pink that was in there.:D

Love whites/creams/beiges! so neat and clean - you add color with your art and furnishings and accessories! my dream is to paint my entire interior a very nice creamy white and then hang big and small Teresa Cline canvases throughout.

hard work - glad you all survived.

Lawdy, lawdy, lawdy! So, I spent the afternoon with my friend who just bought a house and painted the ceiling red. Let's just say he needs my help. He doesn't know it, but he needs my help. He had his floors finished and then decided to paint?? Bless his heart!! I helped him with a stack washer and dryer and somehow got myself pinched in the door jamb - ginormous bruise and knot.
