A Mosque at 9/11 ?Ground Zero??
by Brigitte Gabriel

"Imagine the American response in 1950 if the Japanese government sought to erect a shrine to its World War II Emperor in Pearl Harbor, right next to the sunken wreckage of the USS Arizona.

Would 'outrage' be strong enough to describe the response?

Now fast forward to 2010.

Less than nine years after the worst terrorist attack on American soil in our history, an imam who blames America for the 9/11 attack wants to construct a 13 story, $100 million dollar mosque and Islamic center 600 feet from 'Ground Zero.'

And he wants to unveil it to the world on September 11, 2011 ? the ten year anniversary of the greatest jihadist atrocity ever perpetrated against America on its own soil.

News and blog sites across the country are heating up over this. ACT! for America, the nation?s largest grassroots organization dedicated to combating radical Islam and global jihad, today launched a national petition opposing the mosque, which says in part:

'We are opposed to the grotesque symbolism represented by the building of this mosque at ?ground zero?? We are deeply disturbed by the insensitivity to the families of the victims of the 9/11 jihadist attack exhibited by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and his supporters.'

As a measure of the public?s outrage , over 5,000 people had signed the petition in the first three hours.

Families of the victims of 9/11 are stunned by the news that this mosque is proceeding ahead. It does not appear to be the mosque per se, but the audacity of those pushing for it to be located on what one firefighter survivor described as 'sacred ground,' that is striking a nerve.

Debra Burlingame, the sister of the American Airlines pilot whose jet was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon, is the founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America. In a recent Fox News interview she said:

'"The idea that you would establish a religious institution that embraces the very Shariah Law that terrorists point to as their justification for what they did ? to build that where almost 3,000 people died, that is an obscenity to me."'

The views of the imam of the proposed mosque are also roiling the waters. Madeline Brooks, an ACT! for America chapter leader in Manhattan, wrote the following recently in American Thinker:

'During a recent Friday sermon, this writer did due diligence as a mosque monitor and heard Rauf deny that Muslims perpetrated 9/11. In an interview with CNN shortly after 9/11, Rauf said, ?U.S. policies were an accessory to the crime that happened. We [the U.S.] have been an accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. Osama bin Laden was made in the USA.? Elsewhere, Rauf has stated that terrorism will end only when the West acknowledges the harm it has done to Muslims. And that it was Christians who started mass attacks on civilians.'

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has said that if it?s legal to put a mosque at this site, then it should be allowed. But 'legal' and 'right' are not necessarily the same thing.

For years Americans have been lectured to by Islamist leaders and their enablers and supporters about how Americans must be more sensitive to the needs, customs, and sensibilities of Muslims.

But one would be hard-pressed to find something more insensitive than the placement of a mosque, whose imam supports Islamic sharia law, right next to the worst Islamic jihadist attack on American soil in history.

The fact that the imam behind this mosque claims locating the mosque here is intended to heal the wounds of 9/11 reveals either moral obtuseness or disingenuousness.

The Muslim world is all about symbolism. To the militant Islamist in Saudi Arabia, a mosque at ground zero would represent the ultimate in humiliation of the infidel.

To the families of the victims of 9/11, it is the ultimate slap in the face."

Walk: what a lot of people are trying to tell you is, yes, we understand you are a bigot and a racist, and maybe you need to understand that the 9/11 attack was made by a very small group of radicals who do not represent the entire Muslim religion, just like you are part of a very small radical group that does not represent the entire United States. You seem to understand little about the freedoms of this country.

He's an infidel to principles of the constitution or at the very least is startlingly unaware. Makes me wonder if he's a U.S. citizen.

You are way too quick to sling bigot and racist around. Name calling say a lot more about you than the person you are speaking. It also appears you know little about Islam and just rip off knee-jerk liberal comments with no substance whatsoever. If you care to understand what Islam is all about then read this excerpt. It's a lengthy but eye-opening article:

Here are the top ten reasons why sharia or Islamic law is bad for all societies.

10. Islam commands that drinkers and gamblers should be whipped.

9. Islam allows husbands to hit their wives even if the husbands merely fear highhandedness in their wives. (They also enslave women and children)

8. Islam allows an injured plaintiff to exact legal revenge?physical eye for physical eye.

7. Islam commands that a male and female thief must have a hand cut off.

6. Islam commands that highway robbers should be crucified or mutilated.

5. Islam commands that homosexuals must be executed.

4. Islam orders unmarried fornicators to be whipped and adulterers to be stoned to death.

3. Islam orders death for Muslim and possible death for non?Muslim critics of Muhammad and the Quran and even sharia itself.

2. Islam orders apostates to be killed.

1. Islam commands offensive and aggressive and unjust jihad.

This post reminds me of this quote...

Is this some kind of Christian mosque or are you saying that Jerry Falwell is a fascist?

Saying that all Muslims are out to kill all Christians is about as silly as saying that all Catholics are against contraceptives.

From all I hear, and that is all I know, about this mosque, it isn't the mosque that is scary. The scary is the guy who is pushing to have it built, and the terrorist organization that is funding it.

To me, the scary thing is that so many of my fellow Americans are so ready & willing to to deny freedom of religion to Islam to build a mosque in a place where they would have no problem w/ allowing a Christian church--that they are so willing to kick the 1st Amendment to the curb. These folks obviously never understood the concept of religious freedom to begin with. They're all for religious freedom as long as it means freedom for their particular religion--but not for those other weird & evil religions.

Actually Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet and that Christians and Jews are people of the book who already share in some of the truth and tenets found in the Koran.

From what I read, the guy who is pushing to have this building built is one of the most moderate Muslims in the country and is precisely one of the people who have condemned the radical Muslims. Also, the area that it is proposed to be built in has been a heavily Muslim populated area of New York for well over two hundred years, that has been called Little Syria. From my understanding, the people of New York are quite OK with this, and it's the radical right (i.e. Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin) that want to rabble rouse this into a much more devisive issue than it really is.

The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg says, "The Cordoba Initiative, which is headed by an imam named Feisal Abdul Rauf, is an enemy of al Qaeda. ... Bin Laden would sooner dispatch a truck bomb to destroy the Cordoba Initiative's proposed community center than he would attack the ADL, for the simple reason that Osama's most dire enemies are Muslims," he writes. "[Rauf] represents what Bin Laden fears most: a Muslim who believes that it is possible to remain true to the values of Islam and, at the same time, to be a loyal citizen of a Western, non-Muslim country. Bin Laden wants a clash of civilizations; the opponents of the mosque project are giving him what he wants."

We are fighting these people in Iraq and Afghanistan and on the domestic front there are terrorist plots being perpetrated by Muslims. Not Methodists. Islam wants their plan to impose their worldwide caliphate by whatever it takes to get it done.

As far as Imam Feisal Rauf is concerned he refuses to release the info about where the $100 Million dolllars of funding came from. Have you ever built a house or a business? You have to tell where the money came from. He also says Israel needs to be obliterated off the face of this Earth. He also admires Hamas. He's not a good guy.

Historically Islamists use mosques as armories. The New York 13 story mosque(?) will be the founding of a militant line in the middle of Manhattan. Set off a bomb in there and kill millions.

You who are so thrilled over this mosque would fight to the inth degree to prevent The Ten Commandments from being on the wall in a public place or the Nativity being set up temporarily in your town. Freedom of religion coming from liberals is laughable.

Muslims who are seriously sensitive would never want to be so heartless about the feelings of people whose lives were forever changed by September 11.

It is out there for all to see. Muslim terrorists are taught to make use of our Constitutional freedoms. This becomes possible when confused liberals believe that non-American mass murderers are entitled to the same rights as Americans.

Koran 9:29

This is what many of our enemies believe about the rest of the worlds population:

?Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them.? Koran 2:191

?Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood.? Koran 9:123

?When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them.? Koran 9:5

?Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable.? Koran 3:85

?The Jews and the Christians are perverts; fight them.? Koran 9:30

?Maim and crucify the infidels if they criticize Islam? Koran 5:33

?The infidels are unclean; do not let them into a mosque.? Koran 9:28

?Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies.? Koran 22:19

?Do not hanker for peace with the infidels; behead them when you catch them.? Koran 47:4

?The unbelievers are stupid; urge the Muslims to fight them.? Koran 8:65

?Muslims must not take the infidels as friends.? Koran 3:28
?Terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur?an.? Koran 8:12

?Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorize the infidels.? Koran 8:60

Will Walk the Walk also characterize Judaism and Christianity as being violent based on the even greater number of violent verses in the Bible?

Freedom is not a restricted premise, either you believe in it for everyone, or you don't support the true foundation it was built on.

Not every Muslim is the enemy nor is every Christian a saint.

The best Christian believes and practices all men/women under God are equal and loved.

When you start to discriminate I am afraid you lost the meaning of Godly love completely.

If Jesus on the cross could forgive those that put him there, I surely think we can allow a mosque on a street where others died by those that did not truly support their religion either.

We have the freedom to cry "fire" in a crowded room but we have the sense not to do it.

We, excluding confused liberals, have the sense to not allow our enemy to celebrate on hallowed ground.
