Happy Lazy Day!

We celebrated it yesterday, not knowing that the "holiday" is actually today. After watering all of the potted flowers from the wedding (which took 90 minutes), we came inside to cool off. The weather is so hot that it makes us lethargic. After the hard work of eating a grilled chicken salad, we took an afternoon snooze, then went to sleep at 9 PM because nothing good was on TV.

I guess we'll have to celebrate again today. That is, after hubby replaces the sprinkler system controller that got fried by lightening during a brief thunderstorm this weekend. Argh!

I hear ya. I finished grading exams in mid-May, so done with work then. But we had a wedding reception at our home on June 19. After getting the house and yard back to normal from that wonderful event, I've also been observing this holiday.

Back to work on September 1.

No, BR, I am working like a dog here at the NH. (Not really...just finished lunch and well....you can see what I'm doing now).

I got a whole bunch of lagging chores done yesterday. Interestingly, my eyelids are very, very heavy and I think I should hit the sofa right now! I like Lazy Day!

In a couple of hours I'll sit on my deck with some cocktails and catch some rainbow or brown trout. My dog loves fresh trout on the grill!!

Son and Daughter Day is a day to spend with your children. After all, your son and daughter are the joy of your life. We hope that everyone reading this has the opportunity in their life to see these joys born and raised happily, and successfully.

Today is a great day to spend with your son and daughter. It's not a day of gift giving....except for the gift of time. If your son and daughter are still young and live at home with you, be ever aware that time goes by quickly. So, spend as much of today and everyday in their company.

Son-in-law and daughter weekend coming up! Can't wait! Since the wedding on June 19, they've stayed with us every other weekend. We all like to cook, so our daughter cooks up something wonderful in our big kitchen, with us as sous chefs. Their kitchen is small, so they can't cook like they can here. We also watch movies. So much fun!
