You know what I like most about the hippies? Even when they are fatigued and way behind (it seems), they always pat each other on the back telling each other what a great job they did. All, yes all, of the other remaining teams ***** and moan. Even if the hippies don't win, and I think they will, they are what I call good people and I like their vibe. Number 1 in the race or not, they are number 1 in my book. They must know volumes about themselves.

They are great and we like them the best because of what you just stated.
Oops, I think they just lost tonight's race.
They should hold their heads very high.
It is wierd. They still have 5 teams, but they stretch out the shows, by keeping the teams in, but penalizing the last place, or giving the winners a head start. :idontno: Am I the only one watching this show now that my favorite blondies are out of it?

I love their groovy outfits. They will do well after the show I'm sure- will pick up some product endorsements maybe?? I don't know what products, but they are very likeable!

Oops, I think they just lost tonight's race.I'm watching, though I've missed some episodes. I typically root for the married-for-a-long-time-and-still-energetic couple, but this season I find the people in that category unlikeable.

Love the hippies, though.

Love the Hippies. I'm glad they're still in it. I was glad to see the old folks get first for a change too.

Finally the non-elimination leg saves a team I actually like. (I think they could hear me screaming in Destin last time when the Weavers got the NEL)
I am disappointed that the mugging means the frog hat is gone unless one of the guys had it tucked in a pocket somewhere.

:: BJ and Tyler from The Amazing Race: Hippy Power!
April 25, 2006 09:07 AM - Kyeann Sayer, St. Petersburg, Russia
We've gotten our fair share of flack for hippy-bashing around here, but today in this here post, it's all about hippy love. BJ and Tyler, the controversial "hippies" from The Amazing Race, are pals of mine. Television Without Pity fans have discussed (and dissed) them more than any other team, as they have consistently struggled in that primordial battle against the "frat boys" for first and second place. What is a hippy? Judging by the show's requirements, a wacky guy from California with long-ish hair and crazy outfits. But since these hippies add well-educated, multi-lingual, athletic, and hard-working to the package, they are tweaking stereotypes, and may make it out of last place and win (I hope!) . While the Amazing Race isn't the most TreeHuggerish of endeavors, with all the flying, helicopter driving, etc., Tyler's documentary Kintaro Walks Japan is by comparison all about, well, walking across Japan. If you're in LA, you can get small doses of BJ silliness at the Improv Olympic West. This Wednesday might be your last chance to catch them on the tube, so root for Team Hippy!:

I like the "hippies" because they're goofy and smart and don't snipe at each other the way other teams do when the going gets rough. They're a nice foil to the frattie boys, too, which is funn to watch.
