First Truly Habitable Planet Discovered, Experts Say

Given the relative ease of finding this planet, 10 to 20 percent of all stars may have potentially habitable planets, Vogt said in a press release. (See an interactive guide to the hundreds of known planets.)
"There could be tens of billions of these systems in our galaxy."

Letterman in a hushed voice, "don't tell British Petroleum."

I hope they have their Alien Ambassador situation all sorted out.

Maybe the UN know something we don't. :ninja:

I am with Kurt on this one. If there was some kind of alien contact, it would not be something that would just be announced. There would have to be some kind of gradual acclimation to prevent world wide chaos. Can you imagine the fringe groups reactions? From demons to end of the world theories, the fear and panic and religions turned upside down would result in much chaos throughout the world.

Once you have actually see a real UFO--as I have while living in SRB--there is a calm understanding where we are exactly in the scheme of things in relation to all other alien life (i.e, we are not far removed from the ape family), the true pluses and minuses of any organized religion or any geo-political state or country, and our naivete about numerous topics--war, peace, aggression, evolution, the power of the mind, technology, etc . John Lennon's lyrics from "Imagine" actually will start to ring very true. Hope you'all get to see one someday!
