How stupid is MSNBC?

NORVILLE: Finally tonight, if you were watching the show earlier this week, you heard Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson encourage Americans to work out and watch what they eat.


Good advice, because it turns out most Americans are watching their workouts. Yes, according to a new study by Thompson?s department, 58 percent of all the exercise done in America is broadcast on television. For instance, of the 3.5 billion sit-ups done during 2003, two million, 30,000 of them were on exercise shows on Lifetime or one of the ESPN channels. Put it another way, according to the study, 99 percent of the time that someone is using one of those Soloflex machines, it?s when it?s being broadcast on one of those late-night commercials.


I guess the secretary knew what he was talking about when he recommended most of us begin an exercise program by walking. It might be all most of us are able to do.

MSNBC is stupid.

MSNBC is a station vaguely resembling a news outlet. It arose to fill the opposite niche of another better known and more popular station which began to be associated with conservative thought. Since no one had the condescending, ultra-liberal market covered, MSNBC jumped right in. The first order of business was to hire the most hateful announcer on TV today. (See Countdown with Keith Olbermann). Next was to hire Chris Matthews, the man who said "I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new (Obama) Presidency work." Objectivity is for losers in the big time game of network TV, so having a guy like Matthews in your corner is key. While most Americans are off watching Fox, a few americans are so deluded with their own sense of self-importance, that they will buy into the "We're Smarter than MOST americans" approach of Chris Matthews. He's a fun guy. Let's just not spoil his fun and tell him what an airhead he is. His mama would have been proud (had she been the mom of someone else!). He can't even get a blue link on the Encylopedia of Stupid.

I have to disagree. Actually, we will be a much better country when everyone can aspire to being smarter and a little more progressive than they are at the present moment. MSNBC inspires hope and real progress with all of their news shows!

Our family and friends are no exception here..we love our daily dose of Chris, Keith, Rachel and Lawrence. IMPO, those folks really know how to walk the walk. Let's all learn from some of the very best and the brightest, even if they happen to be on MSNBC!

(P.S. Not to say that you can't really learn anything from, say, Fox and Friends, but..... has anybody?)

I was mainly a CNN (Anderson Cooper) type. Felt like he did a good job of reporting the news and holding dems and repubs accountable despite a left leaning slant.

A lot of Fox News programming was over the top to me- and YES I watch it. And NO I didn't say all of it.

MSNBC had a reputation here on Sowal for being the liberal version of Fox. So I never watched until recently and now that I have tuned in to MSNBC I gotta tell ya-

Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddows and Lawrence O'Donnell are obviously left leaning but I do not find them to be the polar opposites of Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck.

These folks mainly call BS on all politicos and I challenge anyone with a strong anti MSNBC opinion to actually tune in with an open mind to Rachel Maddow and report back.

I will gladly reciprocate and watch a show that you might find to get a bum rap from the left.

Hume,Bair,Wallace,Krauthammer are news people among others on FOX but these guys are the cream of the crop.

MSNBC would have no issue airing an UNEDITED version of what you posted- if there was anything at all that was interesting about it.

But to liberals, there is nothing interesting about it because hearing the word socialized doesn't scare us. We are fully aware that many daily aspects of American life are SOCIALIZED- gasp!

What you see in the video is simply a sign of the times. Maxine Waters started to say "socialized" and then backpedaled because she quickly remembered that this term- thanks to Fox News and the "Republicans"- is now a bad super duper scary boogy man word.

So anyway- if you would like to broaden your mind, pls tune into Rachel Maddow sometime rather than pasting dopey YouTube videos that misrepresent shows like hers.
