Sure wish we could, but we'll be watching it from our couch.

I had such high hopes for this, but ended up feeling generally disappointed.
A few of the high points tucked within included:
*National Anthem sung by Four Troops
*Father Guido Sarducci's benediction, especially
"Thank You God... for... and... Forgiveness: we would have never come up with that one on our own".
*Jon Stewart's closing comments; particularly "if we amplify everything, we hear nothing".

We DVRd it, but I did catch a few highlights- it looked like lots of fun people having a good time instead of...well, never mind!
Loved Yusef Cat Stevens- he sounds the same. Oh wait- he is a scary Muslim now!:sarc:
Rita- can't wait to hear your stories- the ultimate trip report!

Does anyone know when there will be some re-runs?

I was also there for election night in 2010. If you are an election junkie (like I am) it is fun to be there on the big night. I am glad to bear there again for this one.

Great, Glenda. After watching all the zany support for proceeding backwards in our great nation, it is good to know now that I am not alone, and that there are some forwarding thinking and acting folks out there.....

It was just nice to see a gathering of something other than rigid, dogmatic, death-fearing, end-of-times, need-for-closure types.

It was also good to see Jon call the cable news business to task...I love the line that (paraphrase) most America's are just a little bit late to something they have to do...and most really don't want to do anyway...
Seems to identify many people that I know and myself often enough...we need to slow down, listen to one another, stop the fear mongering, and probably turn off the television...
I am so grateful that I spend a lot of my time with students who are just focused on passing a course; and grandchildren who are full of joy about everything...both rub off on me and I am so grateful.
I so want civility to return...I can disagree with someone without being rude or unkind--I can even not like people w/out being unkind...I would like more of that tolerance in return. Somewhere along the way we seem to have lost something in our interactions with others...I hope we find it again soon.

I thought Jon Stewart was great. His line about calling tea partiers racists wrong prob made a bunch of eyes roll on this board. So many here are just obsessed with trying to make that connection.
A lot of Dems tried to make it a political rally but in the end it wasn't.
