Why are Americans so Wrong About the economy

There are a lot of misperceptions about economic growth, taxes and bailouts. This might explain motivations of some voters in the midterms.

According to a new Bloomberg poll, six in ten Americans think most of the money spent to rescue banks will be lost forever. Six in ten think the economy shrunk over the past year. One in two think federal income taxes have gone up in the past two years.

Wrong. Wrong. And wrong.

Because too many people refuse to think outside the Fox. ;-)

That first question was very misleading. It associated TARP with just the component of the program associated with wall street banks.

Maybe they just polled unemployed people...

I would place the media at the top of that list.

Why do they think Obama is a Muslim, why can 1/5 not identify the US on a map, why do they think texting and driving is a good idea, why did they buy more than they could afford, why do they think Social Security will be all the retirement income they need.............

It's a long list. ;-)

Seriously though, I think "media w/ an agenda" answers yours the best.
