From the Daily Mail Online: Forty planes and six armoured cars: Obama visit to India the 'biggest ever by a US President'

Barack Obama's trip to India next month will be the biggest by any US President - with a staggering 40 aircraft and six armoured cars.

...

Forty aircraft - including the Air Force One military plane - and six heavily armoured cars will follow the president around the country.

With such an expensive and ostentatious trip its lucky that we've got a booming economy, cash to burn and lots of government employees available for the trip.

I'll leave the logistics and vehicles up to the Secret Service - as I assume President Obama does.

Since his first stop is the hotel that was the location of the November 2008 terror attacks, I don't think the arrangements are because he is taking Bo.

As for the reason for the trip:
"It is hoped that the trip will build important economic links between the US and India. The county has become one of the fastest growing economies and some experts predict that it could rival China in the coming years."

And China is certainly spending lots of time and money chumming up to India right now, too. They recognize India's place in the world now and in the future.

The 10-20 million phone calls to India everyday aren't enough?

This is nothing more tha sticking it to the American Taxpayer again. If this country is so dangerous...why take your family....seems to me more of a vacation rather than US (Business ?) Trip.
