Michele Bachmann likes earmarks. Just call them something else - Minneapolis / St. Paul News - The Blotter
"Advocating for transportation projects for one's district in my mind does not equate to an earmark," she told the Star Tribune.
Right. Because she'd be an awful hypocrite for promising not to take earmarks while at the same time angling for federal largess from the Obama stimulus bill to the tune of $300 million for a new bridge over the St. Croix River near Stillwater. "

A 20% immediate haircut would be lunacy.
We need to be on-track for a sustainable budget.
Don't change the subject.
For the record, Part D - Medicare was pulled out of a hat.
So if we boil this all down, what you're really advocating here is tax increases on people who make more income than you do. As far as the discussion on unfunded mandates goes, you would prefer to concentrate on military benefits and anything George Bush did, and shy away from discussing anything passed in the last two years. Correct? 😀

What subject are we on then? Apparently I've changed it but I have no idea what it is you wanted to discuss.

A consensus builds in Washington -
Consensus is forming on what steps to take in cutting the deficit
Change you can believe in.

Oddly enough it seem the most vocal side against these concessions are the liberal democrats. Thankfully, they won't control washington after January. Maybe we are about to get some much needed work done.
