Thank you so much, OL for your years of wonderful ornament exchange coordinating!! I can not do it justice, but with the help of 2 wonderful wenches (Tootsie and DD) I will attempt to make it funn!

Annual SoWal Ornament Exchange
1000 posts to participate

How: Email me your SoWal name, real name and address by November 30th. I will draw names and get your recipient's information to you. This information will remain anonymous.

alison1135@aol.com

What: Hand make or purchase an ornament which is personal to your recipient. Keep it simple...no one wants to stress about this!

Mail it to your receipient by December 15th. This is not a hard and fast rule, A few days late will not hurt.

This year we thought it would be funn to open your ornament as soon as you receive it in the mail and post a picture of it!! An on-going opening party! Who will be the first lucky SoWaller to post their ornament??

*If you feel unfamilliar with your receipent, I will start a thread about getting to know your SoWaller.

*DD and Tootsie will be adding more information to this thread!!!!

This makes me remember some of the church craft fairs that we used to go to. Some crafters just have too much time! Unless, of course, you want a crocheted tissue box cover.

.

This reminds me of the other night when we went to Michael's and got stuck behind a woman at the checkout who had a cart and the basket on her hover round completely full. She also knew the entire staff by name and the delivery schedule for various crafts. Needless to say it took forevah!

Hmmm....the one I made is so purty I am considering making and selling them professionally! 😉

DO IT!! I wish you big returns for 2011 and beyond!!

Mine TOTALLY looks like a elementary school art project made out of construction paper!

And I am very proud. 😀

P.S. You cannot cut felt with an exacto knife, so some of my edges are less than straight.

Well I just LOVE this post (& crafting tips) darlin'!

yes, my hand made ornaments used to look like 2nd or 3rd grade art projects but now they look at least 4th or 5th grade level!!! I'm getting good and will join Dougie in selling them professionally.😀 we need to rent out a roadside stand somewhere on the side of 30A.

Let us know when Toots and Dougie are launching the public debut!

Well I'm FOILED. I wanted you to say "...crocheted toilet roll covers" to which I (and I'm sure many others) were primed with the perfect $hitty response...

Hmmm... I messed up the multiple quote feature somehow.

Cheers ANY way!!

I'm totally behind manifestation schedule. I'm tracking behind deadline by a coupla days... despite the visionary inspiration that instantly occurred upon receipt of my "secret sowaller".

Oi-Vey. Begging advance forgiveness.

My ornamaker left a cute little package on my doorstep, is there a rule about when we can open them?

Mine is going in the mail tomorrow, just finishing the final touches! So funn... Although it's kinda heavy, I don't think it's going to work very well as an ornament, unless my recipient has a very sturdy spot on his/her tree!

OPEN IT NOW!!!!!!!!

OMG!!! I opened it... OMG!!!

:wub::wub::wub: I LOVE IT! :wub::wub::wub:

OK, first of all, my ornamaker was Teresa, which is awesome because we are soul-sisters and it's clear how much love she put into the whole thing... ornament(s), box, card, nuts, chocolates, bells and sparklies and all!

When I saw the actual ornament, I gasped and then I laughed and cried at the same time... she made an amazing mini reproduction of my Artstrings violin - what a delightful surprise! Bravo Tootsie!
I have no idea how you made it look so good on such a small scale, you must have used tweezers and a magnifying glass!

And, bonus - she included a couple other ornaments, including a beautiful silver snowflake frame with a photo of Daisy, so cute!

If I don't stop now, I will totally OD on smilies and exclamation points, so I am going to just let the photos speak for themselves. Toots, you made my day, I love you!

Dear Soul Sister:

so glad you liked your ornament box of crap!!! It was a joy to do. And I was very inspired by your violin creation - I almost didn't do it because I wasn't sure if I should try to replicate such an original creation. But, I thought you needed your violin on the tree. So you got it. and I loved doing it for you!!!!!!:wub::wub:

Here is my ornament from Ameliaj! The photo doesn't really do it justice as it doesn't show all the detail in the shells she chose.

My ornament was mailed today. Just going up the road a piece so my recipient should have it in a day or two. 😀 I forgot to take pictures before I boxed it up. Dang it! Hopefully, my SoWaller will be able to take pics and post!
