this sums up nicely how I feel about the politics in our country right now. I am proud to be a child of the 60s...proud to have experienced the excitement of the race to the moon and the adventure of the Peace Corps generation.
I feel sad to know that my grandchildren have never lived when this country was not at war; that my son has had to face the horrors of a conflict that never should have been; and that right now, they do not know the wonder of a country coming together to achieve something as dramatic as the Saturn project which their grandfather was an integral part of...
In spite of that, I have faith in the American will. I have to believe that somehow we will find our way out of this morass of greed and unabashed neglect of our common good...and together get back on a track of reaching for the stars without trampling over each other to get there. I have to believe that for the children.
