I know the summer is such a big concert time for everyone...who are YOU going to see this summer? Who are you skipping out on?

We've been snatching up a bunch of tickets here and there out at Jones Beach on Long Island...

Journey/Def Leppard
Ashlee Simpson
Kelly Clarkson
The Black Crowes / Drive-By Truckers / Robert Randolph & the Family Band

Hopefully the Boss and maybe Guns & Roses if a friend backs out and I get his ticket. ;-)

Steely Dan / Michael McDonald- Tempting. (M-Squared is a Sowaller and a Grayton neighbor...)

I would really like to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
We will be in Europe the same time they are touring: we are missing them in Berlin by just a couple days. Boo.
So now we are going to try to chase them down in the good old U S of A.
We might try to see them in Atlanta or New Orleans.

8/12 Lynyrd Skynyrd. Yep, that's my B'day. That would be so much funn!

Those are just some of the ones that sound good. There's always the Opry!

Whitey, Skinnard is coming here in July--you're invited, if you want to travel to Indy (though you don't need an excuse :wub: ).


I wouldn't mind seeing The Counting Crows and the Goo Goo Dolls. They'll be here this summer.

Oh Kimmi, my daughter might be making a trip to NYC this summer! If it pans out, I'll let you know. Or should I say, warn you in advance?? ;-)

Kimmi, I don't know that Fyl's corruptable but I certainly welcome you to give it the old college try. ;-) You know how her ancient parents kept up with the Funns over Christmas! Can you imagine--to paraphrase Miss Kitty--what one of our spawn is like??

I'll have Phead call you. He said he "rolled" his ankle at practice yesterday. And he was picked for the Bham lacrosse all star game. Maybe you can nurse him back to health! :rolling:

Yes! I went last summer. It was BEP's, Robert Randolph and then DMB.

When I was running this morning Don't Phunk With My Heart came on...then Get Low. I ran my way to Vladi! :wub:

And the last Panic show I went to was when I was still in college...It was like one of a million of Howser's last shows. Then I ate a hippie quesedilla and barfed.

LOL! That's hilarious. Yeah I definitely saw Howser. I bet it was in B'ham before I had turned 21. Yikes! :shock: And I can't believe you ate one of those things! I would go to WSP every summer in B'ham. I never had the desire to go on the "tour." :bang:

It was kindof a joke... been to enough of those in my time. Bonnaroo has really different acts coming this year i.e. Oysterhead

I believe Tom Petty, Wilco and Radiohead are all playing Bonaroo this year. Seeing those three would be worth it. Alas, I am too old for that scene.

Tom Petty will be touring with the Allman Brothers later in the summer. Hoping for a Birmingham or Nashville show.
