I just took up spinning and (what a shock to me) I almost love it. I like the exercise and that it burns supposedly over 500 calories in one session. I also like it that someone else is "the boss of me" and I just have to not think about anything and just do what the spinning instructor says.
So, are there any places with drop in spinning classes in/near SoWal?

Call Grayton Fitness Center 850-231-7075.
They used to have spin classes when I worked out there. Don't know if they still offer them or not.

yep. Grayton Beach Fitness. >>> see schedule (look for "indoor ride")
They have long term memberships and short term. I think they also have daily rate.

Balance Studio between Seaside and Watersound has spin classes. Most are in mornings; however, they are now doing a 5:30 Tuesday night class as well.

you almost love it... spinning is downright evil. but i need to go do it. my girlfriend loves it and goes to Grayton Beach Fitness. She keeps trying to make me go. I did go once - a year ago - and almost died.

Thanks everyone for the information. I may do spinning in SoWal when I'm there when it's not summer. In the summer, I prefer swimming. But i'm still spinning up here in snowy Michigan. I really do like it that I can do the spinning and feel very accomplished and yet be pretty brain-dead while doing it. It has turned out to be quite the escape for me. I'm doing it 3 days a week usually. Who knew?
And I may be getting to SoWal a little more often in a little over a year - both kids will be off at college. Wow, time sure does fly by! And my little plan of having SoWal waiting for me when the kids go off to college is now coming true . Now, if I could only do something about this job and the bills that need to get paid...
Thanks again for all the information. It's very useful.
