We made it! :clap_1: I can't feel anything below my waist and above my knees, but we finished! It was actually 45 miles- and no I don't have a bike, I rented one Jfunn.

We left my place around 645 and made it to the start at 7. We all rocked our little padded biker shorts. Which was risky, but I can't imagine where I would be without them. I think there were something like 40k people. We had lots of bananas and free stuff from race sponsors. It was super cool. We made it to Staten Island by 2:30. The race moved pretty slowly in the beginning and we got held up to prevent bottle necking in the park.

We all came out pretty sunburned with great wife beater tans. But some color is better than none. :rolling:

Thanks for all the well wishes! I think we may do a 75 miler out to Montauk at the end of the summer. :clap_1: Anyone want to come with?

You rock Kimmi! I wouldn't even try that distance on a bike, unless it was on a bus route and I could option to ride home.

Sorry about the loss of feeling below the waist and above the knees. Was there an epidural involved? Do you need a Dr Mchottie to help with that?

I regained feeling! :clap_1:

Shockingly my tooshie isn't that sore. I thought it was going to be worse. It was throbbing when I went to bed last night. It was awful. Today it's the sunburn that's aching more than anything else. Legs may be a little tired, but not sore. You didn't have to be Rocky to finish this race. There were kids doing it...but I do love the gushing!

Here Kimmi, take a look at this, the Five Borough Bicycle Club website:

www.5bbc.org (this is a little slow to load, at least on my computer  )

They're planning a Century Ride from the city out to Montauk on the 21st of this month, so keep riding! Organized bike rides are so much funn. I didn't see anything about a ride at the end of the summer, but if you post it, maybe Merman and I could join you, if of course you don't mind us camping overnight at your place (see, we'll give you the whole summer to mull that one over 😀 ).
