Yup, this starts on Hwy 27 where it goes over Suck Creek Mtn. About 1/2 way the CT crosses the highway. We crossed over S Suck Creek, hiked up and over a ridge to N Suck Creek then up Signal Mtn to Mushroom Rock and back. Really scenic and only 15 minutes from Downtown. Once you clear that 1st ridge you can't here any evidence of a city though.
Is that last pic a close up of legendary Big Foot:lol:
mountain graffiti??
Speaking of mountain graffiti, in the movie Last of the Mohicans there is a scene when they are running up a trail with a bunch of exposed rock to one side. One of the boulders was covered in graffiti and covered with a rock-colored tarp for the movie. If you are looking for it, you can spot it.
Looks like a good spring break destination for beach locals.
Love this! I used to drive through the Nooga going to Cookeville. Thanks for the mountain fix!
Hey now you're talking my language! I tried my best to straighten out a few of those S-curves on Hwy111 at triple digit speeds. Cookeville to the ATL is a fun drive ;-)
Oi Vey!
I spent a night in Cookeville that I've successfully blocked out for almost 20 years... until now.:blink::lol:
You can't drop that bomb and just walk away. We need the story
RO, You are absolutely right, therefore I apologize and retract!!
It's just one of those lame a$$ stories that would have to be told in person... like at the very bitter end of a soiree after the beach is closed and there's only 1 or 2 remaining die-hards schlepping back to The Red Bar
