14Real skeletons maybe - if you dig science, biology , and anatomy.
Are we still trying to create anorexics and bulimics in our society? I though the heroin chic look was out. I guess starvation is still in?

I almost fell over when I saw Gwyneth Paltrow on the Grammys. She was so bony- sad, because she was a pretty girl.

And that's the company who bucks the industry standard by hiring more curvy/busty models.
Designers want models who are skinny because the more like a "human clothes hanger" they are, the more they show off their clothes.
HORRIBLE what all the skinny models, airbrushing, and computerized changes do to females' self esteem.

Heroin Chic was simply the same model, but made up to look like she'd been on a 48 hour bender.

I don't think even those models are that skinny. I suspect lots of airbrushing took place. The one on the right looks anatomically impossible.

True, and I also remind myself that some girls really are made that way. I used to do pageants with a couple of girls who would eat like crazy TRYING to gain weight--most girls who have bodies that slender also have no boobs (unless they've had a little surgical help) or butt... It's really a double edged sword.
Those of you who know me, know that I've gone both ways--thin and thick--and I think that everyone has those pesky self-esteem issues that drive them to distraction. Some of the prettiest girls are, unfortunately, their own harshest critics. :(
There were some really nice article pieces done for Elle (IIRC?) last year, and I love the Dove Real Beauty campaigns, focused on beauty no matter what the size.
I think all women are beautiful, and really believe that TRUE beauty comes with loving and accepting yourself for exactly who you are. So, before judging them so harshly, remember that they are trying to make a living, and doing what is necessary to make it happen. Just my .02...

Skinny girls want curves, curvy girls want to be skinnier - everyone wants what they don't have and there are benefits to each - as long as you are healthy.
I get very frustrated with the damage to young girls and women from using models who get further and further from a healthy woman's body with every passing day, then digitally altering them to be physically impossible.
Eating disorders are rampant and are unfortunately becoming worse, affecting a wider age range, and becoming more of an issue for men too.
P.S. Girls - whatever you think a guy thinks is the ideal weight, add at least 10 pounds. (20-30 if talking about a model. ;-))
