there are some people here in our area of the beach, we'll call them the clampitts. they are letting their kids run all over the dunes where the owners have installed tubes, walls or whatever they chose. how can i politely tell these rednecks that they need to harness their children ? the lady who owns the house next door bought yellow caution tape and private property signs and put them all over her area because hers was the area the kids (and the adults no less) were running and sliding on. now they are moving over to our side and i am not gonna tolerate it, help ....

That's what I would do to Kit Kat. You know kind of ask, "Is this your first time at the beach?" blah blah then get around to I wasn't sure if you had seen the sign they are hard to see.....

You can do it Audie girl:clap_1:

ummmm it's fairly obvious this is their first time at the beach. the men go down in their jammies, we're talking tshirts and flannel - yes flannel lounging pants. yesterday the little boy whipped it out and pee'd into the ocean - standing at the edge for the world to see and his mom ran up and took a picture of this ! hello - people walk and swim there - yuck ! another reason not to get in the water. every time i see them, i hear the deliverance theme. you sure got purty teeth !

If the place is a rental, then perhaps the rental agency's sign is on the place. You could call the agency and say they're being disruptive. I also think telling the owner of your rental what's going on would be useful because it sounds like this family could cost the owners future rentals. They could give you some advice perhaps. If the family actually owns the place, then there's probably not much you can do (except tell the beach patrol if they happen to be there when the family is on the beach) except stay somewhere else in the future. For now, probably best to enjoy the show (except for the illegal dune sliding).

Some how I don't get the feeling these people would take kindly to being told what to do by a fellow tourist...:idontno: do you think logic and environmental awareness is something they would pay attention to?

IMHO, not saying anything doesn't give people the chance to do the right thing.

they actually may have got the hint from the lady's yellow tape and privacy signs - they weren't on the dunes today. every time i see them i think of this quote from a movie and i don't remember what one:

incest is best, put your mother to the test !

i can't believe i just typed that.:idontno: :idontno:

Miss Kitty makes a good point. Also, who cares if these folks are offended? They seem to not enough to care about the area and chances are you will NEVER see them again.....help them become less ignorant.

i don't want a bunch of hillbillies beating my a$$ right there on the beach - that would be awful !
