I'm pretty bad though. We're heading down to SoWal next month and I have a nice little pile of stuff in the corner of the cedar closet upstairs, earmarked for the condo. How's that for recycling? If I can't use it at home, stick it in the condo. :lol:

:wub:You'll feel so liberated! After I finished all that, I worked in the yard for about an hour and a half. Whew!! I am one tired old woman! But, I'm so happy my closet looks great (Kitty was my inspiration) and I can find stuff.

Ditto for here, DD. My hands are raw from cutting down all the grasses and dried stalks of last year's flowers out in the yard. I need new garden gloves and a good dose of moisturizer. My hands and back ache. The weather was finally so wonderful that I couldn't bear to come in this afternoon (especially not when a million loads of laundry were waiting for me :().

I am getting a little hung up on the clutter, as in I've hit a road block. I've gotten a fair bit of it out of the upstairs and down to the basement...where it sits. I look at all this stuff that I used to love and say to myself "This crap is too good to haul down to GoodWill when I can sell it at a garage sale!" Trouble is, the pile gets bigger and the garage sale gets less and less appealing. I think I may have to get myself liberated like you and say the heck with it. Off to GoodWill it goes. Hot pink lava lamp anyone?

That's exactly what I did in the yard! And that's exactly how I feel. I took a long hot shower and have used tons of moisturizer, plus a little fake tan.
I can completely relate to your conversation with yourself...garage sale vs. Goodwill. I've said the same thing to myself. But, no more garage sales for me. Done. Not worth the effort and then you still gotta haul off all the stuff that's left. Not a lot of cash either. I just get a receipt at GW and give it to Mr. DD. Makes him happy at tax time. But, if I were there, I'd buy some of your stuff.

Oh man, I'm gonna miss you by a couple of weeks it looks like. Dammit.

DD - remember the school yard sale you visited last year or the year before? Well, you missed it this year (it was funn!). Anyway, I gave a truckload to the school for their general yard sale/fundraiser. and then I bought my own table and sold a bunch of crap!!! It was kind of funn. LOTS of people coming through. normally I would not do a yard sale, but doing it at the school with a big crowd was well worth the effort.

So, I did general spring cleaning, but lordy it never ever ends. I still have more closets and clothes to sort through. Plus, remember the photo sorting stuff we talked about a few years ago? I started the project way back when but it still waits.

I still have stuff I could get rid of, but I made a good dent last weekend. But, you're right...it never ends.

computer pix are out of control!!! I do like google/picassa as a way to store pix and albums. it just takes time to do them, organize, and delete ones you just don't need. most are on my hard drive, occasionally backed up.

My friend Tivoli is probably going to have a table and surely she'd let a Hoosier neighbor share a table with her. And what a perfect excuse for coming down to SoWal. Not like anyone needs an excuse for that. :wub:

My garage is so full of crap it is about to bust open!!! I just keep putting everything I don't want anymore out there. I think I may have a garage sale this coming weekend. I hate to have them but last time I had one I made $600 in one day. I have a bunk bed and a dresser etc. that Connor outgrew. It will be hell but I will have cool beverages on hand to get me through it! 😀 I really need to get rid of more! I have way too much stuff after living in the same house for 20 years! It will be nice to have the garage back for sure!!

Oooooh, CoS, I dislike garage sales!!!! But, the payoff can be good.

I am officially ADD...I have made progress in that darn closet.....2 bags full. But, if the phone rings (or anything else for that matter) I find myself doing something else instead of getting back to that closet!

I bet you would LOVE participating in the Seaside yard sale. But, you are going to have to haul all your crap all the way here to be in it? Well, might be worth it! maybe you can have your friend buy two tables so you can have plenty of room.

Community yard sales are terrific.. I found people love to pick up the little nick nacks, kids bedding/comforters, CD's, jewelry & beads leftover from those projects you never do anymore, ceramic bowls & kitchenware, cookbooks... and I sold a bunch of cooking magazines that I just had to finally let go.
